Holding 2 coveted AA Rosettes and twice named Country Restaurant of the Year, Leicester's Restaurant is worth going out of the way for. Located in the rolling green valleys of South Wales, Leicester's is tucked inside the charming Great House Hotel in Bridgend - perfect for any kind of getaway. Fresh Welsh produce is used as often as possible, and the restaurant strives to use organic local produce wherever possible, including fresh fish caught in nearby Porthcawl. Sample a terrine of free range chicken and foie gras with parsnip puree and house dried figs, or the justifiably famous Welsh beef, served in a red wine and shallot sauce on creamed cabbage. Lunch specials are also worth a look.

I visited here to meet up with five friends for a catch-up. The standard of service from the staff is extremely high, (well done on the staff training) the atmosphere and overall ambiance of the dining area is relaxing with all the tables having enough space for you to experience a personal and private meal. The food is delicious, care... More

This place has become a regular for family gatherings now. This time it was my birthday. Can't speak highly enough of the food and service. This restaurant is London Standard, without the London price tag. Most opted for the Christmas dinner and were not disappointed. Beautifully cooked and presented. And as it was my birthday, they gave me a card... More

The setting is fantastic to start with the hotel is full of character and history. But what Tommy is creating in the kitchen is world class. I am in awe every time I visit the restaurant as it gets better and better.

We stopped here for lunch on a Monday. Very quiet and seemingly posh it lacked a lot in atmosphere. With one waiter on duty who coped well it didn't create much of an ambiance. We had the beef burger which we requested without the bun. It was cooked perfectly and really delicious, the triple cooked chips looked lovely but weren't... More

Awesome restaurant with amazing wine and a ever changing menu that is a delight. It is getting hard to book a table here as its really popular. But we keep managing to return to brilliantly clever food , and a classy environment.

We have had dinner a few times in the last year and will keep coming back! The quality of the food is fantastic and easily compares with top London restaurants. The cod I had last week was incredible, as was the sticky toffee pudding. I can be quite fussy with my food and I know coming to eat at Leicesters... More

Visited here last night for my nephews 18th Birthday. (party of 15) Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. Perfect service. Amazing flavours and quality. This place is in a league of it's own. Will certainly be returning.
