Boy, as it improved!

Visited 27 2 2015 evening. It was very busy, but the little lady staff member got us a table for four. I had the pate starter which was excellent in taste and quantity. Then for main, I had the gammon, as did my mate Jim; my wife and Pat had the Taverners Chicken. All were excellent again in... read more

Went for lunch and at best the food was very mediocre! I ordered the lamb (served on a cold plate,I like it when the staff bring the plates out using a cloth and say 'be careful of the plates they are hot', even with pub food) was over cooked and dry, and the mashed potatoes were 'just' lukewarm and also... Started to go here a lot more than I normally have in the past. It is a great location not to far from town so if you feel you want to start your night here then it is good as a Taxi or walk down the road would get you into Bridgend Centre. The food is typical Brain Chain Pub... More

I last visited here in 2013 and left quite a mixed reviews along the lines of "great pub, rubbish food". I visited again out of convenience in November and was pleasantly surprised. I had the curry and it was very tasty, if a little small. But for the price, it's hard to knock. I hope this place continues to improve... More

Good service, lovely staff, hot fresh food.....really enjoyed. The pub was busy with people watching the sport on tv which made it a bit chaotic but once they had gone it was better and a calmer atmosphere

A very noisy but obviously popular hostelry. Plenty of room with lots of tables tucked away in odd corners. Not the biggest or most exciting menu, some of which appear somewhat over priced. Staff appear to give priority to drinkers over diners Meal was average pub grub, and portion sizes varies greatly. tables were 'sticky' , toilets were clean Not... More

I was dropped off at this pub, whilst the rest of my family went shopping at the nearby MacArthur Glen shops. We originally planed to eat at Harvesters but,I got them all to eat here & were pleasantly surprised.I had the Welsh faggots & of course drunk the Brains Beers (not a driver)

Will deffinately be visiting the Red Dragon for food again , the service, food and surroundings were lovely , if you love fish you have to try the Fish Platter , the calamari just melts in your mouth , and you have to be VERY hungry to eat allllll the mix grill , but its well worth the being "rolled"... 1 - ok food, small portion sizes compared to other places locally. 2 - cramped small seating area for all 12 of us. No one could get in and out from table. 3- long wait at bar for drinks service. Place appeared clean and presented well, but don't think I would be rushing back. There were lots of other people... More
