I was recommended this place. The real ale is very good, and the surroundings are lovely, however I just ordered and ate a very dry wild boar and chorizo burger with pale chips that had not been cooked sufficiently. I also ordered hot and spicy chicken wings and when they arrived there were 3 wings on a plate that were... More

Quite busy hardly any seating, we just thought it must be good then. We did have to wait 40 minutes for our main course and puddings just a few minutes. We expected this as it was busy. Food was great, the atmosphere was nice. Staff were all friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Unusually for a bank holiday the weather was sunny so we wandered over to the Pheasant. We sat outside and both chose to have fajitas. They were delicious, and to be fair a big eat. There seemed to be plenty of staff on, all of whom were very friendly. When Brain's took over this place it was a bit iffy... More

This is a nice place but very much has the feel of a Berni Inn or Beefeater. Beer is good and food ok, but not really my cup of tea. This would be a good place if you had a young family

On the day following our son's wedding, we booked the function room for friends and family to gather for lunch. We were 31 in total, including young children. We had pre-ordered meals, and they were served with efficiency and all meals were excellent. Everybody commented on how nice the food was, and how quickly we were all served. The bar... More
