Deserts to die for!

Lovely rustic surroundings.Gorgeous food (tandoori chicken strips were delicious). The maple syrup cheesecake was amazing. A real treat! Would definitely visit again.

Lovely, well cooked, well presented, deceptively simple food...we loved every morsel.Fantastic wine - Chillean Merlot. I had the brie starter, followed by a swordfish steak cooked to perfection , many places over cook fish so that it turns out dry, not here, excellent...concluded with a trip down memory lane Jam Roly suet pudding. Very reasonable £20 ph for 3 course...I'll be... More

Really enjoyable "old school" evening meal experience where attention to detail, warm service, good portions of quality of food are the order of the day. Large group size was not an issue, really heart-warming comfort food with a menu you would expect to see and want to eat. P.S. also good value lunch menu too- In summary a "Hidden Gem"... More

Hi all if you have not been to the Old Cottage Bridgend for Sunday lunch yet you are missing a trick. It is 100% top quality home cooked lushness. You have to book because it is always full. Sittings are 12, 2 and 4pm. I went without my 2.5 year old as she is too crazy for that place with... More

Visited as party of seven on Saturday night for a family birthday meal. Food and service was really good. Staff were polite and efficient and food orders arrived reasonably promptly and quality was very good. This was our first visit and we really couldn't fault anything other than one minor comment that the maple and pecan tart for one desert... More

Things didn't start well when we were told to hold on a minute as we arrived. We waiited 10 minutes before anybody actually spoke to us. When they finally spoke to us we said were with a group and they said we were the first and left us sat in the entrance. Another 5 minutes later they offered us a... More

Went to the Old Cottage for lunch and took advantage of the £9.50 two-course deal. As well as the lunch menu, there was a specials menu which formed part of the deal. I had chili con carne and nachos which came with sour cream and a salad garnish. It was not a huge portion thankfully (I was looking forward to... More

Had to pre book what we wanted to eat which, for me, spoilt the eating out experience a bit. As we were a group of about 12 we were put upstairs in a corner. At times we felt like it was hard to get waiter attention for refills etc. Long way from the loo too. Id heard fab reports of... More

On a friends recommendation we booked for a table of four on Thursday evening. On arrival we had a warm friendly welcome and were soon settled at our table. The menu choices were amazing and was so difficult to eventually decide on what to order. We we did order the food was soon in front of each of us in... More
