Went here for Sunday lunch after hearing how nice it was. We sat upstairs in the restaurant and the first thing we noticed was how dirty the carpet was. It looked as if food had been tipped on the floor on more than one occasion and not cleaned up. If they had hoovered it I don 't think it would... More

Great food but not much atmosphere. Lunch time value is exceptional. More a family meal time venue than party night.

large crowd went, food pre ordered so we didn't have to wait. Generous portions and food served hot and altogether. Staff polite and restaurant clean.

I was taken to The Old Cottage by some friends who had recommended it. The building has been renovated most successfully and is in a good central location. We all enjoyed our lunches, very generous size portions and two courses for under £10. The service was very good too , they were quite busy on the day we went but... More

First visit to this restaurant for a few years. Treated very well by staff on arrival and service was good throughout our visit. My partner and I both ordered sardines to start and they were fab. I ordered sword fish to follow and the portion was huge - no fussy cordon bleu tiny portions but it was delicious and my... More

Living in the local area I have to say this restaurant is the best in town. I have been eating here for a few years now and thought its time I write a review. We pre booked a table over the Easter weekend as this restaurant can get busy Some evenings (this is always a good sign) We had a... More

I have been to The Old Cottage last Saturday eve with friends and then Sunday lunch today with family. Both meals were superb- very tasty, well presented with excellent service! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals on both occasions!- Thoroughly recommend! Very busy on both occasions so booking a table ahead would be a good idea!! I'll be going there again... More

I came here a couple of months back for a quick lunch, and returned today with my partner for what was a fantastic Sunday lunch. We both had the roast beef from the carvery, and it was slow roasted to perfection, with plenty of vegetables served separately to go around. I started with the homemade chicken liver pate which came... More
