It was a cold and wet Saturday evening in March. We had been hiking for 2 days. We were planning on having a BBQ but it was 8pm and the weather was not going to give. We drove down the road from our campsite and went to this pub. We walked in the door to a busy and very warm... More

Living locally I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone visiting or local alike. The beer is great and the food lovely. We have eaten there many times now and always had a lovely meal with a warm welcome. Our young children are made to feel welcome when we are there for lunch too. Fantastic fish and chips and we booked... More

Good food - good service - reasonably priced. Dog friendly inside and out. Relaxed and traditional pub :)

Ate here one lunchtime with an almost empty Pub. Food was OK but found the Bar Staff somewhat abrupt ... this was supposed to be a Celebration Lunch but not very welcoming .....

A great local pub serving a great selection of real ales. Have tried evening meals, Sunday roast and pie night and can recommend all three! Friendly welcoming staff and atmosphere. Beer garden on the side of the canal. Ideal for stopping off when walking or cycling. Lucky enough to live locally. Can get busy, so worth booking a table for... More

Had a great supper here, good homemade food in a very busy pub, efficient service and good value. Does get very busy at the weekends so pick your table to avoid the crush

At the time of our visit The Star Inn was showing at number 10 of 82 restaurants in the Brecon Beacons Park on TripAdvisor so, as we were staying quite near by, it seemed a solid bet for lunch! We are pleased to report that, in our opinion, our fellow Advisors have judged things about right! We both opted for... More

A lovely country pub in a great location with a good range of local beers and ciders and excellent menu. The food isn't cheap, but it is good.

We were staying locally so ventured here for a drink and some food - Lots of local drinks including a gorgeous perry, which my husband and I rate as one of our favourites. On our first visit we had sandwiches - soft and freshly made ciabatta and focaccia, which is so unusual as generally dry and hard! thick cut local... More
