The decor is not great (hence the 4 stars) but the tea was lovely and the muffins were excellent. We didn't try the savoury food, but if you're craving something sweet with your tea I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The outside of these tearooms looked fine, but it was a real disappointment when we went in. There are too many tables and too close together, so it was difficult to move around. There were not enough menus on the tables, so we had to walk around to find one. We waited at the table for service until someone told... More

This tea room was doing a roaring trade on Sunday when the rest of the town is virtually shut. Reasonable value and a pleasant dining room on a back street (but between to town and main car park). We had to wait a bit for food to be served but, to be fair, they had a big group of 12... More

Fabulous place that oozes character and charm with unfailing good humour and real affection for the customer.

I think the first reviewer is honestly writing about thewrong place! I was in the tea rooms recently. What a fabulous array of cakes, some really unusual ones too! The biggest Victoria sponge I've laid eyes on. Gorgeous ploughmans with chutneys and cheese selection. Certainly no greasy spoon. And the decor was not chintzy at all! Unless he went there... More

I visited these tearooms last year and found the Welsh cawl dish http://britishfood.about.com/od/maincourse1/r/welshcawl.htm wonderful. as far as the deco is concerned , this can be seen from the outside ie you know what type of premises you are going into and it fits perfectly well with the general ambience of Brecon !!!

This is a lacklustre establishment. All chintz and wheelback chairs. I had the worst cottage pie I've ever tasted, perhaps even the worst meal Ive ever had in a cafe and I've eaten in some dives.
