Worth the trip!! After hiking Pen Y Fan we found this gem. The locals were finishing off lunch and a pint (or wine!). I had a superb risoto stuffed squash - on the outskirts of Brecon in Wales. Where else? Oh, and a pint of Welsh Ale (Kite Brewery). This is THE place to have a good meal, a good... More

After a long day at work and as a visitor to the area I decided to make the effort to venture out of my hotel and a few miles down the road I was not disappointed. As previous reviewers have said the pub was a little tricky to find initially and looked a little underwhelming from the outside but stepping... More

We had a lovely trip to the Brecon Beacons over the Easter weekend and had booked this in advance due to good reviews. The food looked great, beautifully presented and great value for money. The marmite butter served with warm bread was delicious and moreish! However, I ordered the asparagus 4 ways- warm asparagus soup and cold potato salad in... More

A throw back to how pubs used to be, a warm fire, and welcoming atmosphere greeted us. Great range of beers and ciders and exceptional food. Highly recommended.

Visited for lunch on Easter Sunday. Some of us travelled an hour and a half to get there but it was worth it! First impressions - No parking and uninspiring outside but inside is quite different. All our meals were hot, good sized portions and very tasty - the lamb and Pannacotta particularly nice. Service was friendly and attentive and... More

We stopped for lunch here prior to going on to Brecon. We enjoyed the lunch so we booked a table for the Sunday evening. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Nothing negative to say. It was great.
