Good hearty food

The food was good and the draught beer was excellent. We sat out side on the picnic tables and the view across the bay is fabulous.

Me and my wife and our dog visited here three times this week whilst on holiday, twice at lunchtime and one evening. Excellent food on all occasions, great service, friendly staff. Choice of superb ales. Fish cakes to die for, they have to be the best I have tasted. Home made vanilla ice cream is gorgeous.

This is a lovely little quaint pub, which has retained it's original/traditional 'pub' features. Great atmosphere, good selection of beers on tap and homely décor. Food is great, huge portions at good prices. Would definitely recommend! Had a nice local feel.

After booking a table for 4 we arrived to a fairly quiet bar and ordered our meals, I was the only one to have a starter which was moules mariniere, I know there are variations of this dish but it dosn't excuse the fact that the mussels were over cooked and what should have been broth, seemed to be just... Found this place searching for "dog friendly pubs" for lunch on our hols.Glad we did as its a lovely pub in a very picturesque waterside location.Must be lovely to sit out on warm day but sadly it wasnt a day for sitting outside so went in with the dog and were a little bit disappointed to be "banished" to the... Had a really nice lunch with a friend today. The turnip and pepper soup was very tasty and home made bread finished it off perfectly. My friend had a ham sandwich with salad again on home made bread. It is quite unusual to get home made bread and it was a pleasant addition. There was a good choice on the... More

I love old pubs that try to keep with how they used to be and this place certainly does that...Well down stairs anyway. From walking through the door you get a sense of how the place was when the fisherman made it there first port of call before home in the 19th century. All things fishing are on the walls... More

After having visited the Gazelle on the Menai recently highlighted that the Ship Inn is due a sympathetic refresh (carpets, chairs tables etc etc). Trading on location and a "traditional" pub image only goes so far. With the Gazelle and Tavern leading the way its time for the Ship Inn to consider its future, respect their customers and go for...
