Excellent before, but disappointing this time!

Two weeks ago we went for the third time, on a Tuesday for lunch and the kitchen must have had a bad day as "things" as they say were not good! The steak sandwiches were dry and tasteless! The main course Chowder had little or no fish in it, tasty broth, but appalling really! We complained, but... read more

We had drinks outside on the tables provided, many people were eating out, fantastic location in Red Wharfe Bay. we also booked a table in the snug, which is dog friendly, you have to book its very busy. Great food, the meat in my Steak and Ale Pie was top quality. Also very friendly staff.

My wife and I visited here a couple of evenings during our week in Anglesey. Lovely traditional pub with great views over Red Wharf Bay. Friendly bar staff and a good selection of drinks. The food looked great although we didn't eat there. Will definitely return :)

I came for lunch here with my husband and 3 children. We were visiting the beach with our 2 dogs on a very windy day and were delighted to find they accept dogs inside. It's a lovely building with wooden beams, stone walls and log fires. They have a separate area, the snug, where dogs are welcome which for us... More

Having walked the magnificent Red Wharf Bay beach we arrived at this group of cottages and a pub and restaurant just as it began to rain. It was crowded inside with a terrific "Olde Worlde" atmosphere with wooden tables , timber beams and old pictures on the walls. They serve real ales and good wines and the specials board was long... Three of us dined on Monday evening at peak time in August and booked ahead as it tends to get busy. We had the garlic prawn starter and garlic bread, then had the vegetable lasagne and fish and chips. All cooked well, great portion sized, hand cut chips and all in all we were very satisfied. We'll definitely be visiting... More

It is usually necessary to book a table at weekends as this pub gets very busy . The fish and chips are as good as the mussels!

Amazing location yes, but the 'restaurant' menu is highly overpriced (goats cheese starter £9) as the food was not particularly good. Greasy chips and mushy salad smothered in dressing seemed to be the only constant. Service was also not great. All in all a rip off disappointment.
