Not up to normal standards

We visit here on a fairly regular basis. Our visit yesterday was not a good one. The soup was over salted and this is coming from my partner who likes salty food but didn't tell me until after we left. The BLT was good but I had a shock when I payed the bill. A Soup, BLT, Pot of Tea... read more

After arriving in Holyhead I was dismayed to find the town a rather typical port. After a short walk around the coast looking for somewhere to eat I found the Harbourfront Bistro. Upon entering my son and I were greeted by I presume the owner. There were no tables inside but we were welcome to sit outside and as it... More

I have eaten here a few times, it's normally my first choice when eating out. Due to its popularity it's best to book a table in the evenings. During the day (apart from Sunday Lunch), bookings aren't normally necessary. Great food, daily specials and great staff. Would thoroughly recommend. The food is a good quality and it's nice to have... More

There are an incredible amount of extremely positive reviews for this restaurant and this is the reason we chose to dine here. Unfortunately although our experience wasn't negative or unpleasant, it certainly wasn't of the standard that so many previous reviewers have experienced. I won't dwell on the negative as my gut instinct is that the chef just had an... More

The seascape visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows of this compact former lifeboat-house restaurant may not possess a classical or romantic beauty, but it has a rugged, impressive charm and many talking points, such as the mid-Victorian breakwater protecting the beach and marina or the harbour berth of the immense car ferry in the distance. Try it at dusk and watch... More

It was a really cold windy day and my friends had booked lunch at this restaurant. We went through the doors the minute they opened to escape the cold - not expecting the food and welcome inside. After we were shown the menu the (owner?) came over the explain the three specials - one of which was a 16 hour... More

This was our second visit and we enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious and the house wine very good. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming and very attentive without being intrusive. I'm sure we will go many times again!

A lovely little bistro, the food was freshly cooked to order, very pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. I had not eaten here before myself but others in my party had been for lunch previously which was off the same standard. We all had steak cooked differently and all arrived at the table cooked to perfection at the same time. I... More

The location is amazing, your choice of decking/ outdoor seating right on top of the harbour, really marvellous if the tide is in, or indoors in the snug and cosy interior. Excellent service, and very good food. My wife and daughter tried the excellent burger, quite upmarket, ample, very tasty, and with a good range of accompaniments. I had the... More
