Went for mothers day. food was lovely but the most miserable staff I have encountered. Not a welcoming experience at all. Definitely would not go back.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the food on Mothering Sunday. Unfortunately our main waitress was ill that day and we had to call on acquaintances to help us out at very short notice. However I still appreciate that the staff working that day were representing our establishment. I appreciate your feed back... More

Returned to Abergavenny from Bristol to eat at our favourite restaurant and as always had a lovely welcome and beautifully cooked food.Excellent prices and loads to choose from though my partner always has Roy's delicious homemade soup! Well worth travelling 50 miles.

We have been to the Greyhound Vaults on several occasions and have never had anything less than an excellent meal there. Lamb Sunday lunch is (as my good mate Lord Justin of Kaerdiff says) "too die for"! Nothing too fancy, just excellently done home style cooking, good portions, excellent flavours, extra lamb gravy in a boat. Not just outstanding for... More

I have eaten here many times and will continue to return. The food is delicious, and you can tell that it has been prepared with love and care. The staff as owners make you feel very welcome, regardless of whether you have coffee and cake or a full 3 course meal. The menu is varied and the specials are always... More

Had Sunday Lunch here yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Starters were very good, and the dinner excellent. Plenty of meat and veg, all cooked superbly. Went here on a recommendation of a local. Would recommend booking as we were lucky to get in and had to leave by a certain time because of bookings. Will definitely use again, recommendation enough

We recently had meals here and thoroughly enjoyed them. The service and quality was excellent and the quantity was very good.

Came here today for Sunday lunch, hasn't booked but they did fit us in. Atmosphere was poor as there were only two other tables there, but this could be because it was 2pm and not lunch time (12pm) I had veg soup to start it was good that they taken the time to make their own but was a little... Tasty proper food. Tuesdays is mad due to the market but other days it's consistent and always worth a visit.
