The noisiest meal I have ever eaten!

When we booked for the NYE gala dinner there was no mention of entertainment, never mind a singer with backing tracks and a Mic about 6ft from our table. He had an ok voice but the volume was excruciating, we couldn't talk without shouting, crooning was definitely not our friends' or our style nor... read more

We have been to this restaurant about four times but this is the first visit since I started to write reviews. The view is excellent although the first time we have managed to actually sit by the window. Our starter of belly pork with black pudding was nice but I felt it was a little bit tough and I would... The Llanwenarth Hotel restaurant.....where do i start? Well....lets give you some background info. My husband and I had booked 2 nights at the hotel (a midway stop on our way to Welshpool). Our original plan was to have an evening meal on the first night and that was it - breakfast, lunch and the second evenings dinner, we planned to... More

If you want a meal with a view, you won't find anywhere better, however if you want a good meal, you'll find many better alternatives. We ate as part of a largish group on a Sunday lunch and from sitting down to being presented with our desserts took over two hours. I had the squid starter which was good, the... More

The view over the Usk was amazing. Sadly the food was not as good as the last time we ate at the restaurant. Calves liver starter was tasty, but was dumped hot onto a salad with wilted. The lamb main course was overcooked, and very ordinary. Puddings were excellent however. No tablecloths on the tables which was a pity. Also... More

Excellent food and service. The rack of Welsh lamb was incredible. It was delicious. Maybe the premises are a little tired looking but work is being done to update it. Very promising. Fabulous window view looking out across the river Usk and up the opposite valley.

Eaten here on numerous occasions and cannot fault the food. Not the cheapest in the area but you get what you pay for. Lovely views from the restaurant. Service seems to let this place down, little things like not being offered water for the table or not even having a check back to the table to make sure all is... More

My husband and I went for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but they had a table for us. The staff were pleasant but the atmosphere in the restaurant was not. They obviously had their regulars which was glaringly obvious! We had Vegetable soup to start which was ok. Then we had the Beef Brisket. Plenty of Beef, five rock hard... More
