Came here after looking at the menu online. Nice setting, cosy feeling. Mum ordered the fish and chips. I ordered the Brie and broccoli pie, only to be told there was none left. So instead I opted for the steak and ale pie. Service was quick and polite which is always a good sign. When the meal came, it was... More

When in Abergavenny I have had many lunches at the Venue and have always had a good meal. Last Sunday we went for a family meal on Sunday June 2nd. I chose the Welsh Lamb it was great and the vegetables were served in a tureen and were boiling hot. Best Sunday lunch I have had in a Restaurant. The... More

This dident seem like a restaurant, just a bit of an add on to the pub, service very slow, staff dident seem well trained in customer service. Food was OK, had better ,had worse.expensive, an average 3 course Sunday lunch is approx £20.

Previously had lunch at the adjoining pub and today managed to get into the restaurant. It is a very pleasant details dinning room with a menu of all your favourite home cooked meals. The beef and ale pie is superb. Would highly recommend venue 59 as it does great food at a great price.

We were visiting Wales on a cycling weekend and staying at Pontypool Premier Inn - didn't fancy the extremely overcrowded Harvester next door. We had to drive 10 miles to Abergavenny but then we were thrilled to find this place. Friendly welcome - delicious food! All home cooked too. Lamb's liver perfectly cooked (medium rare) and hot, freshly steamed vegetables.... More

My partner and myself went to venue 59 for the second time . It was spot on the first time we went and we were really looking forward to our night out BUT our second visit was tarnished by a table of very drunk loud customers. The service was get us in feed us up and get us out as... More

We went to Venue 59 today for a lunch. Excellent food very reasonable and well presented. The club sandwich is not for the feint hearted its enormous !!! Good selection on the menu ranging from soup, sandwiches or hot meals would recommend if you are in Abergavenny.

I used to love going to Venue 59, but this meal certainly wasn't up to the standards of before. Although our starters were ok, the 2 other people I was with didn't enjoy their meals that much (the burger was cold and soggy, and the chicken and couscous dish was particularly dry). The meals were saved by 3 great desserts,... More

My wife and I called hear for a meal on 3rd April 2014, the menu was quite a standard affair, steaks, fish and chips, lasagne etc. but the quality of the food was very good and the service was first rate. The price was quite reasonable, under £25 for 2 main courses and 2 drinks all in all a thoroughly... More
