Excellent Mid Week Lunch

Well done Sue and Alan for providing a first class service and excellent food in a pub with an exceptional history. Our visit was enjoyed by all and it was good that you shared our humour too. Thanks for passing our regards on to Roddy. Wishing you loads of success Big Bob.

Enjoyed lunch here recently. Nice welcome, very friendly and quick service. Chose basic pub fare for main course...Steak and Kidney pie with Mushrooms. Quite delicious and excellent quality steak. Very reasonable price. Has Goats Cheese tart with caramelised onions as a starter ...beware, it's a large portion and a touch sweeter than expected because it's served with a balsamic sauce... More

Wow amazing Sunday lunch , starters were great , and the roast beef was to die for , cooked perfectly pink , delicious array of vegetables . Too full to manage a dessert , the rest of our party had the chocolate pots which were stunning !! Friendly waiting staff, great atmosphere! Very reasonably priced , the place was full... More

Six of us went for lunch following a recommendation from my brother-in-law who'd eaten here once before. Very smart newly renovated environment, friendly staff and food that was definitely a cut above most pub food: fresh, well-cooked and beautifully presented.

Have been going to the Foxhunter since the seventies, before it became a lovely restaurant and before Matt Tebutt. Hadn't visited for a couple of years or so and heard Mr Tebutt had sold up and gone to London,so we thought we would give it a go for Sunday lunch. Not much had changed inside except that the bar area had... More

Three of us lunched today at the Foxhunter Inn at Nantyderry and I can only say that the food we had was excellent. The service was equally good. The chosen selections were the seabass, the roast shoulder of lamb and the seafood bake. Well presented and delicious. The desserts, lemon posset, gooseberry fool, were of similar standard and I am... More

As like many other people, I have definitely had a few traditional Sunday lunches over the years, ranging from indifferent to good. But I must say, that the lunch today was one of the best ever including service. This is about as good as it gets. If any body is disappointed by the food or drink selection and service, they... This place earned a high reputation some time ago when Matt Tebbut first opened here. Now it is more down to earth and we have a reasonable value straightforward meal here with no surprises. Nice surroundings. Wye Valley (brilliant) beers.

We visited the Foxhunter Inn again last week with old friends. We all knew the Foxhunter in its previous guise. We were not disappointed at all and can't understand the very negative review posted recently by "James H". We were all delighted with the quality of our meals and the value for the standard of food we ate. Don't believe... More
