We really enjoyed our meal here, we popped in as we were staying nearby, but not sure about the place. The pub feels very informal, which isn't normally a problem, but on our visit there were kids and dogs literally running about the place, which I know irritated my husband! It was evening and having dogs about your ankles isn't... More

the atmosphere of this pub has always been warm and inviting and the staff friendly and welcoming. The food is wonderful and has been on the many occasions I have eaten there. The fact that the decor is country farmhouse, with a fire in the hearth and dogs roaming freely among the customers makes time spent at the Clytha all... More

A lovely pub in the countryside for a rainy night. The choice for a country pub was excellent. Staff friendly, food excellent a wide range of choice to suit all pallets, a lovely atmosphere.

I love the Clytha Arms. It's so relaxing and the food is great. A perfect place to meet up with friends for tapas and chat.

Had a very mediocre meal here on Friday evening. My parents wanted to take us out so we opted for The Clytha as we have been going here for years. It was busy and the service is always a bit slow but this time the food let us down badly. The table opposition to ours had problems ordering their meal... More

This pub is in a pleasant countryside location near Abergavenny. You can choose between a bar area, a kind of lounge, or a dining area. There is a good range of real ale. For food, there is a choice of a conventional menu and a tapas menu. We tried both. The duck cassoulet from the main menu and the mussels... More

Called in on Bank Holiday lunch time. The place surprisingy quiet, I quickly learnt why! Stood at the bar for 19 minutes waiting to be served (only three small orders in front of me), finally got served, tried to order food with my drinks and was told I had to wait for someone else to take the food order but... We called in without a reservation on a very busy Saturday night. The restaurant was happy to serve us in the bar (crowded, but we got a table!). The menu was limited for veggies, but I had the leek & laverbread rissoles with beetroot chutney, and red pepper bruschetta (from the tapas menu) and the meal was lovely. Love the... More

I won't be popping in for pint after swimming in the river , quiet winter nights down the road......We have celebrated weddings, remembered loved ones after funerals with you but no more tonight's treatment was un believable what a...
