Food was a 7 out of 10 the caeser salad was OK, lamb main was cooked very well but slightly misleading on the menu, they catered pretty well for my partner who is vegan. Service was excellent very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.

So glad we booked or we would not have got in for a meal. Excellent food and service. All four of us were delighted with our choices from a varied and interesting menu. Thank you

had Sunday lunch here for my husband's birthday. The food was absolutely lovely, especially the salmon and wild garlic risotto and the chicken and fig salad starters. Good selection of real ales and very friendly, professional service. Excellent quality and combinations and Fantastic value for money

You will need to book here, it's very popular. Food is very much home made - I would imagine Sunday lunch goes down a treat. Great place to bring the wrinklies. The pub still remains with a bar and a few seats but it's mainly geared for diners. Hosts are incredibly friendly and pub is just far enough outside of... More

Stopped off here after reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor and it didn't disappoint at all! The food was beyond amazing (we had the steak and ale pie), the service great and the pub itself was cute and full if character. I only wish it was closer to home so I could visit all the time!

Stopped here after a brief stop at another pub (which was definitely no gem) and decided to stay for lunch and what a great decision. The chap at the bar was lovely and courteous and the lady also running the bar just as nice. The restaurant was filling up, which showed it was a choice destination for locals, which gave... More

Went to the Crown for a Birthday meal. We hadn't booked but were given a table straight away . The restaurant was busy which is always a good sign and the food was wonderful. Starters were scallops with Indian potatoes and ham hock terrine with home made chutney. Mains were the same the steak and ale pie and home cooked... More

We've been to The Crown several times in the last couple of years. The food is just lovely and we've returned with friends and family who all now rave about it! I have coeliac disease and the staff are all very knowledgable about providing gluten free meals. The menu is marked with gluten free symbols and they always have gluten... More

This review is not about the food (though I thought it was only ordinary) but the owners' policy on e-cigarettes and e-pipes. Ignorance of what these new-fangled devices really are is no reason for banning them out of hand. There is nothing either illegal or dangerous about them. There are, it is true, some molecules of nicotine contained in the... More

Starters okay. Pork tenderloin just chunks of over cooked meat although the Calvados sauce was nice. Chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham turned out to be chicken breast with deep fried ham on the side - ghastly. Kids running around the place. Barman specifically asked if everything okay and then could not have been less interested in the feedback. Truly... More
