The Black Boy Inn is a listed building which is situated in the historic town walls of the Royal Borough of Caernarfon. The Inn is within easy walking distance to the town centre, and the famous 13th-century Castle. An old Inn dating back to 1522 and with its wooden paneling, low ceilings, and thick wooden support beams generates a cosy 'Olde Worlde' Welsh atmosphere. The Black Boy is a very busy Inn; please do not expect it to be a slow laid back hotel. It is in the centre of the tourist hub of North Wales and long wait times can be norm in middle of summer. Come and visit us in the winter season for a more laid back feeling. We now also have Black Jacks, which is another renovated building in courtyard, at rear of Inn .Black Jacks is away from the hustle of the main Inn . All suites have small kitchen area.No lift in building. Some Ground floor rooms are easy access with walk in showers , 1st floor variety of rooms as is 2nd floor.we offer 24 hour staff attendance. When you stay in any country you must wish to stay in somewhere that reflects that country ,we certainly do majority of our staff are welsh speaking and so are the owners .Meal TimesSunday to Thursday: Noon until 9.00p.m. Friday and Saturday. Noon until 9.30p.m.Table reservations can be made via reception up to 6.30p.m. Table allocation after 6.30.pm. will be made on availability. Waiting times can vary and an indication of any delay will be conveyed to you. To arrange a table reservation (up to 6.30p.m.)

Enjoyable Sunday lunch

Having arrived in the town after 2.30pm on Sunday, we decided to try the Black Boy for a cooked lunch. The staff were pleasant and polite and we enjoyed a delicious 2-course Sunday dinner which was reasonably priced.

After visiting the restaurant last year we were so impressed that we booked a weekend break for this year. The accommodation was excellent, good facilities, clean and comfortable. However, the evening meal on Saturday was spoilt as it appeared to have been kept warm for some time which had dried out both the fish and steak. The breakfast next morning... More

Asked the car park attendant on arrival down by the quayside where he would go for a good feed that wouldn't break the bank. Very swift response was "The Black Boy Inn", plus appropriate directions. Found it easily and was impressed by location and decor, which is very much that of a traditional inn down a narrow, motor-traffic-free street. Clearly... More

As we arrived late in town we wereadvised to try the Black Boy Inn as a lot of other places would have not be serving food. When we arrived it was busy on a friday evening. So we put our names on a list and took a bleeper and had a drink in the tiny bar. It was very quaint... More

There are a number of rooms at the Black Boy i gather you were in the lounge bar area .There is also a dining room ,public bar and coach house areas which all serve food . We can seat up to 200 people at the Inn , and with this in mind delays will be inevitable when we are full... More

We had a weekend away in Caernarfon lovley place. After a tiring day walking and wifes hobby shopping ( not much choice on large shops ). A drink would go down well. After eating in the restaurant linked to the travelodge the previous evening, we wanted somewhere with a nicer quality of food and the Black Boy Inn didn't disappoint. Fantastic quality food at a reasonable prices, we sat in the public bar which had a great atmosphere albeit a bit noisy at times but lots of laughter which is always good!
