The Black Boy Inn is a listed building which is situated in the historic town walls of the Royal Borough of Caernarfon. The Inn is within easy walking distance to the town centre, and the famous 13th-century Castle. An old Inn dating back to 1522 and with its wooden paneling, low ceilings, and thick wooden support beams generates a cosy 'Olde Worlde' Welsh atmosphere. The Black Boy is a very busy Inn; please do not expect it to be a slow laid back hotel. It is in the centre of the tourist hub of North Wales and long wait times can be norm in middle of summer. Come and visit us in the winter season for a more laid back feeling. We now also have Black Jacks, which is another renovated building in courtyard, at rear of Inn .Black Jacks is away from the hustle of the main Inn . All suites have small kitchen area.No lift in building. Some Ground floor rooms are easy access with walk in showers , 1st floor variety of rooms as is 2nd floor.we offer 24 hour staff attendance. When you stay in any country you must wish to stay in somewhere that reflects that country ,we certainly do majority of our staff are welsh speaking and so are the owners .Meal TimesSunday to Thursday: Noon until 9.00p.m. Friday and Saturday. Noon until 9.30p.m.Table reservations can be made via reception up to 6.30p.m. Table allocation after 6.30.pm. will be made on availability. Waiting times can vary and an indication of any delay will be conveyed to you. To arrange a table reservation (up to 6.30p.m.)

Everything about having a meal at the Black Boy is great. The food is excellent, then prices are really good, and the choice of meals is brilliant. I visited with my partner and daughter and we all ordered from different menus. We paid less than £4 for a massive ham, egg and chips for my daughter and she loved every... More

After reading trip advisor i made a reservation for this weekend. I am so happy i did - you must make a reservation as there are not a lot of tables but this is a fantastic restaurant. The food was brilliant, the staff were great and the prices were great for the quality of the food, only one bad point... More

Everywhere we went over the last two days we had been told we must eat at the Black Boy Inn. Located within the city walls this Pub/restaurant/hotel offers a warm traditional Welsh environment with a bustling bar and a packed out resturant. We unfortunately forgot to book a table earlier in the day and after the numerous recommendations thought we... More

Wonderful dinner and great service. The food is really good and the sticky toffee pudding is fantastic. Certainly would go back if I am there again.

We stumbled across this pub on our way home to England.... My dad opting for the Wetherspoons because it was quick and easy. thankfully we found the Black Boy Inn before he wandered off... Outstanding portions where by they are as they approach the consensus is 'challenge accepted.' Desert consumed - even though we were full - because the menu... More

I will start by saying we didn't stay at the black boy Inn, we only ate in the restaurant. The food was delicious, it wasn't a long wait but they forgot our little boys meal completely. They were not particularly apologetic about this and then bought out only half of his dish. When we asked for the rest of his... More

We are sorry some meals were missed on your order .Not sure what happened as all orders are sent directly to the kitchen onto touch screens. I would imagine that there was a glitch in the system either software or operator. Please accept my apology for this . More

Ate here and really enjoyed it. Both myself and my colleague had the vegetarian options and were really impressed. Very tasty beautifully presented and plenty of it. It was a Monday night and there were a lot of diners inside which suggests it is a popular spot. Great service, and good range of drinks.

Called in after a fun day at Gypsy Wood, great service and accommodating for young Children. Food was lovely, and selection of Real Ale is very good. Will definately visit again, and will consider staying over with the Wife.

Disappointed with my recent visit! Had mussels as main and for nearly £15 it was well overpriced for small mussles and sauce not great. Pints here expensive too!!!
