I visited this much recommended venue on Saturday. A great look and a fabulous shop however, the service in the "cafe" part leaves a lot to be desired. Four of us arrived at 11.15am for Breakfast. The place wasn't too busy but the limited staff seemed ever so busy, on what, I have no idea. After sitting chatting for 15... More

Some of the best tapas we've had outside of San Sebastian! Really very delicious and special dishes - we loved the little fried padron peppers, superb chickpea and chorizo, lovely patatas bravas, fab calamares, great cold meats and cheese platters, had to order more pork belly chunks with crackling as it was so great! Also bought some absolutely fantastic food... More

Looking for a place for lunch, we were pleased to find Ultracomida. We were reminded of our wonderful stay in Spain earlier this year. The food was great and authentic, with lots of tapas and larger dishes to choose from.

Quite by chance we stumbled across Ultracomida one lunchtime. Not really wanting a sit down meal we thought we would try their amazing freshly made and filled ciabatta's. I had one filled with Welsh goats cheese, peppers and pesto, my partner with French ham and salad. Mine was so filling I couldn't finish it and had the remainder the following... More

We remembered that our campsite had recommended a tapas bar in Aberystwyth but we couldn't remember the name, so we asked a lady who looked like she was from the area. She very excitedly told us what and where it was. We shared lots of small delicious mains, drinks and dessert. It was great and only came to £60 inc.... More

Typical Spanish seating of 2 large tables and perimeter seating. It's a bit unnerving at first but after several visits you get used to it. Just take a seat and wait for a menu and waitress to take drink orders. I don't find the menu overly authentic, it's a bit touristy. Bread, dipping oils, olives, pickles etc. The menu is... More

Was in Aberystwyth for two days and fancied a hot drink and a cake. Had purchased lovely cheese, pate, bread etc from the deli at Ultracomida previously and our hot drinks and cakes were not disappointing either. The service was good, the only thing was there wasn't much choice in cakes. The restaurant was full and many people were eating... More

As a Spaniard, I have to say that I'm quite impressed about the proper Spanish food that I had at Ultracomida. The staff was also very friendly and they have a huge amount of Spanish wines. 100% recommendable.

Heol y Wig - Pier Street - had a eccentric hippy cafe, Y Wraig, the woman, we went to, sadly condemned but some years later, above wave level, how happy we were with Ultracomida Spanish delikatessan and great tapas. No looking back.

This restaurant is set at the back of a wonderful little shop of Spanish food. It's made up of two large circular tables and a long bar. The menu has a good range of tapas dishes at different prices. Most taste even better than they sound, such as warm courgette salad with hazelnuts and roast peppers with salt. The wine... More
