Visited on a Saturday night with family - 4 adults and a hungry 11 year old! We all had full 3 courses and we were all delighted with the food. Portions just right, everything was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. We are going again, soon!

I first visited the restaurant with my family, we walked into a cosy bar, ordered our drinks and were shown to our table, we placed our order and chatted while waiting for our meal... And we waited and waited and waited.. 2 hours later without a meal on sight we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. On the... More

Visiting friends in the neighbourhood recently it was suggested we went out for lunch. Great idea as I like Aberystwyth withis its generous supply of reasonably good places to eat. So imagine my surprise when out hosts pulled up outside this small pub on the main road which in fairness looked as if it had seen better days. The welcome... More

Visited 3 nights running as we were staying in a b&b up the road and had been told that the food was good here. Food was indeed cracking. But it was the welcome from Maggs and her staff that made it great. Fantastic atmosphere with decent beers and good food, you really couldn't go wrong paying this place a visit.

We met up with friends in the Tynllidiart one friday evening in January. It was raining heavily and the roaring fire was a very welcome sight. We managed to get seats there and enjoyed a relaxing drink or two. Bar staff very friendly. Nice little pub for a drink or food, just outside Aberystwyth in Capel Bangor.

We were a bit late, and we confused the staff because some of use wanted starters and mains, and the rest wanted mains and sweets, and we asked for the mains for those not having starters to be served at the same time as the starters, because some of us had trains to catch and we were getting short of... This is my second review of this little Welsh gem as I cant keep away. Great local produce, beautifully cooked and presented. Love the open serving hatch as we were able to thank the chefs on our way out. The only negative thing I could say was that mid week it was very busy and there seemed to only be... More

We booked for 7.30 and we were given a table at 8.25. We've been waiting 55 minutes in the downstairs pub and, though we tried to find a "smell free" spot, we just couldn't! The smell of drains was unbearable. Our food order was taken by the waitress while we were standing, still waiting to be seated! No drinks were... More
