We met up with friends in the Tynllidiart one friday evening in January. It was raining heavily and the roaring fire was a very welcome sight. We managed to get seats there and enjoyed a relaxing drink or two. Bar staff very friendly. Nice little pub for a drink or food, just outside Aberystwyth in Capel Bangor.

We were a bit late, and we confused the staff because some of use wanted starters and mains, and the rest wanted mains and sweets, and we asked for the mains for those not having starters to be served at the same time as the starters, because some of us had trains to catch and we were getting short of... This is my second review of this little Welsh gem as I cant keep away. Great local produce, beautifully cooked and presented. Love the open serving hatch as we were able to thank the chefs on our way out. The only negative thing I could say was that mid week it was very busy and there seemed to only be... More

We booked for 7.30 and we were given a table at 8.25. We've been waiting 55 minutes in the downstairs pub and, though we tried to find a "smell free" spot, we just couldn't! The smell of drains was unbearable. Our food order was taken by the waitress while we were standing, still waiting to be seated! No drinks were... More

I should have realised things didn t bode well when I got no response to my email to book a table & had to phone to check availability. There was a revolting smell of drains in the bar (to the point where our 12 yr old asked if one of the little ones had had ahem an accident!!) this worsened considerably... We had a superb meal here on Tuesday evening. The food was faultless (and I'm fussy) the veg was fresh and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. A perfect evening. My husband tried their own beer and really liked it.

Excellent welcome to this authentic Welsh gastro pub. Lovely open fire in the bar, food cooked beautifully and good value for money. Worth a trip out from Aberystwyth.

I have eaten at the Tynllidiart a few times, and the ambience is so good. It is so welcoming with the lovely open fire in winter, and the staff are always so nice. Last week I had the lamb, and it was definitely the best I have ever had! Definitely worth trying! All the food looks lovely, and I have... More

We visited without booking on a Saturday. The ambience was nice with tea lights and candles downstairs and an open fire on one side. The restaurant was mainly upstairs - and was full. I had prawns and chorizo to start and chicken and vegetable pie for main course. Both were delicious and good value for money. We were in a... More
