Really good food

In a tiny, beautiful, village this pub restaurant surprises with a very varied and excellent menu. Some of the best fish I have eaten (and I come from Cornwall!). Great friendly service too

Friendly atmosphere and a high standard of locally sourced fresh foods all prepared with imagination and flair. In my experience it was the best food I've tasted in Wales. And the staff couldn't have been more helpful and obliging.

We ate here on a wet Friday lunchtime and it was busy even though it's well off the beaten track. No wonder as the food was delicious and we had the lunch special so excellent value for money and the front if house lady owner ( we assumed ) was just so friendly and helpful she just made the overall experience... Lovely ambience and excellent food. Probably the best choice in the local area. Quite a Welsh influence on things but very friendly.

My Mom and I are taking a lovely drive through Wales and we happened upon the Garn Isaf B&B. All of the guests went up to The Farmers Arms for dinner. All of our meals were really good, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding we had for dessert was even better. The best part of the evening was talking to the... More

Following Tripadvisor’s good ratings we travelled to this pub for dinner and were very pleased. Our chosen starters were mackerel paté on crostini with a green salad and minced lamb with a quinoa & couscous salad. Both were good but somewhat small. For mains we both chose beer-battered haddock with minted pea purée. These were gorgeous with huge fillets of... More

Mid-Wales can be a tricky place to find food that is not fried or from a packet, particularly on a bank holiday Monday evening but this is an exception. The menu was superb with hardly anything I wouldn't have wanted to try, service was fantastic and a really excellent pint to go with it. The restaurant itself was charming and... More

A varied menu. They are very organised in the kitchen as we didn't wait very long for our food even though it was a busy Saturday night It is a real treat to be served by happy and friendly staff!

Following my niece's art exhibition I had good reason to celebrate and take the family for a meal at Y Ffarmers. The service was spot on. The pub has also been renovated tastefully. The food of a high standard(if choice slightly limited), vegetarians well catered for. Puddings were out of this world (particularly so the Sticky Toffee Pudding). One suggestion... More

Recommended to us as a place to head out for lunch as we were in the area, we headed to the pretty village of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn up a vertiginous and bendy road. Other routes are possible, but we enjoyed the challenge of the drive and the views. Once at the village I recognised the building from photographs and realised I''d heard... More
