Description: The Carlton Restaurant has been under new management since its opening on...
The Carlton Restaurant has been under new management since its opening on 3rd July 2013. Owned and run by former chef and owner of the popular Corner's Restaurant on Chalybeate Street (who have also welcomed famous Welsh celebrities in the past such as Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews from Catatonia), Toni and her partner, Gaffari, would like to welcome everyone! The Carlton Restaurant is centrally located in the main town centre of Aberystwyth and boasts an elevated position (above Superdrug) overlooking the main street. Locally-sourced and fresh ingredients and home-cooked with great care and attention to customers' health and well-being are at the forefront of The Carlton's aims. Customers can enjoy delicious and healthy drinks knowing that every beverage consumed helps to support producers in developing countries. Diners with a sweet-tooth can also try Toni's locally-famous home-made cakes and various desserts - her Lemon Meringue is a particular favourite amongst customers! The Carlton Restaurant also caters for specialised dining so customers with food allergies and intolerances can also enjoy The Carlton's food without worrying - simply mention your requirements to the staff. The Carlton Restaurant is also a popular venue for groups. Large groups (10+) are welcome to exclusively book The Carlton Restaurant on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. With customers' choices and satisfaction in mind, Toni and Gaff can also custom-make menus. A large selection of wines, beers and cocktails are also available (either during the day or in the evening!).

Always visit here when in Aberystwyth, we nearly always have the breakfast. There is plenty of it all cooked well. We have had other meals here all cooked and served well. Staff are always friendly and helpful. It gets busy about 12ish so best to get there before.

The staff were nice and friendly and very busy. The entrance is a little unusual as all you see is a door way and stairs but it was well worth the walk up the stairs. Great atmosphere clearly very popular with locals which is always a good sign. The food was prepared quickly and was very good. We were a... More

We tried two different meals and a desert. All three items were presented well by a flustered but kind waitress. The food however was not as tasty as it appeared. A bit of a disappointment, but nice place to sit & clean restrooms.

We were recommended by a local lady who we stopped in a nearby street. Being upstairs between a couple of shops, we wouldn't have really noticed it, We were glad we went in though. There were plenty of snacks/drinks available but we wanted lunch - these were on a blackboard inside. We had lasagne, salad and chips - beef in... More

I've been going to this restaurant for years - my favourite place in Aberystwyth. Lots of choice on the specials board, yummy home made cakes and a lovely atmosphere perfect for family outings, dates and catching up with friends over a coffee! 10/10

In the centre of town. I had missed this on many occasions. By pound land. To my delight I have visited twice. Both times the staff are very attentive and pleasant. The food is extremely good. There are daily specials. No complaints at all. I will certainly be going back. Thanks
