Description: The Carlton Restaurant has been under new management since its opening on 3rd July 2013. Owned and run by former chef and owner of the popular Corner's Restaurant on Chalybeate Street (who have also welcomed famous Welsh celebrities in the past such as Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews from Catatonia), Toni and her partner, Gaffari, would like to welcome everyone! The Carlton Restaurant is centrally located in the main town centre of Aberystwyth and boasts an elevated position (above Superdrug) overlooking the main street. Locally-sourced and fresh ingredients and home-cooked with great care and attention to customers' health and well-being are at the forefront of The Carlton's aims. Customers can enjoy delicious and healthy drinks knowing that every beverage consumed helps to support producers in developing countries. Diners with a sweet-tooth can also try Toni's locally-famous home-made cakes and various desserts - her Lemon Meringue is a particular favourite amongst customers! The Carlton Restaurant also caters for specialised dining so customers with food allergies and intolerances can also enjoy The Carlton's food without worrying - simply mention your requirements to the staff. The Carlton Restaurant is also a popular venue for groups. Large groups (10+) are welcome to exclusively book The Carlton Restaurant on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights. With customers' choices and satisfaction in mind, Toni and Gaff can also custom-make menus. A large selection of wines, beers and cocktails are also available (either during the day or in the evening!).

This would have to be the most expensive breakfast and worst coffee I have had since being in the UK

Back in Aber after 10 plus years for a reunion, I don't think this place was here? Anyway, we had brunch and it was perfect. A few fussy friends with me too who got exactly what they asked for despite the many instructions :) Big portions, tasty and friendly staff...plus great for people watching if you get a window seat... Even local people often overlook this friendly establishment in the centre of town. Yet it offers good quality food at very reasonable prices, including a choice of excellent vegetarian dishes (which is a massive plus for me at least). The staff are very helpful and cheerful, and they really helped me out when another local restaurant cancelled at the last... More

On 10th of July 2014 my son, his partner and I were looking for something to eat, late in the afternoon. We had gone into a number of places, who unfortunately could not accommodate us, as it was too late, however one of them recommended The Carlton. We walked up the steps to The Carlton, above Superdrug in Lampeter and... More

Visited Aberystwyth for the day with extended family of eight ranging in age from early teens to early OAPs. Looked at lots of places to eat but couldn't get a consensus on food available until we spotted the Carlton. Everyone looked at the menu, decided there was an option for them and in we went. It was a great decision... More

Had a meal there whilst waiting for the last train out of Aberystwyth and the Carlton seemed to be one of the few still open in the town centre after 6 o'clock . The staff were very friendly and the food was spot on. Would definitely eat there again

What a fabulous place to spend your lunch time! So welcoming, family friendly, great menu choice for all tastes - and we are fussy! Extremely pleasant staff who care about providing a brilliant service. The loo! Great just for a visit! Hand creams, beautiful smelling sprays and even hairspray! Loved our visit to bits. Thank you. Try and visit this establishment when I'm in town with my mum for our weekly catch up! Always greeted with a warm welcome and smile. Food is cracking, steak pie and chips is proper hearty and rich, and the burger I have pretty much always is consistently good with extra bacon and cheese!! Never leave feeling hungry! Staff are all... More
