Just Like Old Times

Booked at the Rec for Mother's day, which was very busy! Have to say the food was excellent and the service great. The Rec hasn't lost it's touch!

Food is delicious and well presented, even their light lunches or sandwiches treat you well. Their booze knowledge is impressive and their cocktails are expertly concocted. I regularly come to this establishment when i want dependable, excellent service with great food and drink. On a casual night out with friends or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. I am and... More

I've eaten at the Old Rec repeatedly over the last 12 months, with family and friends from near and far. Not once have I been disappointed by Matt and the team or the food. My brother in law was taken aback to find such great food in Worcester (him being sure that only in London could he get a decent... More

Had a fantastic meal here last night. Lovely relaxed evening with excellent service. Could not fault anything. They even gave us crackers when we said that we were having a very belated Christmas party meal! We will definitely be returning.

Have had dinner here a few times recently. Lovely ambience, varied menu with changing vegetarian options. Although, I have found the food to be over salted on occasion. Love the cocktails. They have cocktails you won't find elsewhere but you can also order the classics. They'll even conjure up a mocktail if you're driving! Service is variable - last time... More

Due to its location, this pub is refurbished every couple o0f years when the River Severn floods it! Presently a very comfortable cellar bar type atmosphere with lovely big leather settees and comfortable seating throughout. Bare brick walls and stone floors. Really good lunchtime menu and very good attentive service.

Returned to this under rated restaurant yesterday to sample the new lunchtime menu. Brilliant! Leek and potato soup (a nod to St Patrick's day) was accompanied by a Youngster Stout. The cod main was cooked to perfection, and washed down with a cheeky Riesling which was lovely and flowery and aromatic. Pud was a divine upside down pineapple creation. Just... More

We went as a family night to celebrate my wife's birthday. The place had changed since our last visit with the restaurant being downstairs and the lounge upstairs. The atmosphere is very good in both. The quality of the food was excellent. No one had steak choosing some of the more specialist dishes instead. Portion size is not large but... More

I have been to the Old rec many times over the past 6 years and every visit is a pleasure. The food is always great, inventive but with traditional elements, I've taken friends and family in all shapes and sizes to the old rec and every group found something to enjoy. The mozzarella filled dough balls are a favorite of... More
