Good lacal beer. Friendly service " young sir" Great value and atmosphere. They do everything right. The steaks, sourced locally, are exceptionally good and a bargain

We run a holiday cottage,The Linney,a mile away from The Duke and always recommend this pub to our guests. We go there ourselves and we are never disappointed. our Guests always remark on how good it is in our visitors book and recommend it to future guests. The atmosphere is great, always welcoming and friendly. If they can possibly fit you... More

We visited this pub today at lunchtime, and it was pretty much full! Managed to get a table by lovely roaring log fire. We had a selection of food two of us from the excellently priced fixed menu, my husband had the pie and it was delicious, the vegetable on a side plate cooked to perfection, the gravy to die... Turned up to the pub only to be told by the head waiter that (and I quote) "we are jam packed, sorry!" After which he walked off! We then approached him and asked how long of a wait there may be and had no responce other than sorry.. He offered no solution other than to leave and eat elsewhere. After... More

We were staying in the area and booked earlier that day. We were told that there was only a table left in the bar which was fine with us. Unfortunately we had to take a long diversion on our way there and rang to say we would be late and were told not to worry. When we arrived I apologised... More

For many months our friends have been telling us how good the food is, and how friendly the staff are, and what good value the £11-95 for 2 courses lunch is. Today was the time Sue, I and a friend had tried it. It really is a bit of a wow. The 2 course menu was full of interesting sounding... More

Meal for two. Beef Bourguignon - This was a few pieces of meat in a sea of brown liquid (gravy?) completely tasteless no evidence of wine in the dish or silverskin onions. Vegetables - potatoes were dry and wrinkled and may well have been leftovers from lunch or even the day before. Other veg served on a sideplate (saucer) were... More

Went to the Duke for the first time on my birthday, myself, parents & sister with her two children. We were very well looked after by the friendly staff and were pleased that it was a dog friendly pub too. Very relaxed environment together with the generous portion sizes including the children made for a lovely lunchtime meal. Would highly... More

The Duke has never failed me! The food is always brilliant, have eaten here a number of times and have never had a bad meal, ever. The staff are so friendly, especially Miles and Andy. If you're looking for a local pub serving home cooked, excellent food at a very reasonable price then visit! You won't be disappointed!

Decided to call in here for some lunch last Thursday with my mom on the way to Ledbury following a recent recommendation. The lady behind the bar was ever so friendly, taking us to the only table available. We ordered off the specials menu, which had plenty of choice including a fresh fish platter for two to share. The food... More
