Two visits in one week must say something about a nearby pub There is always a warm welcome and on Sunday we had the delicious carvery with plenty of fresh cooked veg and a few days later a birthday meal of delicious steak with all the trimmings The steak was cooked to perfection and my husband enjoyed his plaice An... We visit the Round of Gras regularly for the quiz evenings and always eat beforehand. There is a good general "pub food" menu supplemented by specials and seasonal fare, especially during the asparagus season. Everything is home cooked and reasonably priced. I don't understand the "microwave on overtime" comment from a previous reviewer.

Cheap and cheerful, poor food, average at best. Mass produced fairly bland pub food, average service.

Called today for lunch, and it was very good, with a really good choice on the menu. We had hot prawn and marie rose baguettes with salad and chips, beautifully prepared and yes to our delight proper homemade chips (not frozen) hooray. Staff most pleasant and friendly, drinks and food very reasonable. Would definitely return if in the area

Good home cooked food, varied menu as well as a carvery. Puddings, in particular, reasonably priced.

It was really convenient that we didn't need to book a table. It was a family get together - and we were very lucky they could accomodate us at such short notice. Very large area allocated for eating - so no shortage of tables. We were served really quickly. The menu is extensive but the food is very average. We... More

We have eaten in the car very a few times over the years. The quality is always good and the staff, despite being very busy are friendly. I had the best pork that I have had for years and the veg were perfect, which is not usual in carvery pubs. It is a few miles from the main roads, but... More

I visit this restaurant about once a month on family meals and I am very rarely disappointed! The food is cooked to a very high standard and despite only having what some might consider to be a small, select menu, they always have at least two specials boards with plenty of different variety foods to choose from. The service both... More

Just got back from a wonderful meal to celebrate my birthday (age un-disclosed). We booked in advance as Christmas is just as busy as their asparagus season. We opted for the two-course meal for £14.95, which included a lovely homemade Christmas dinner with a selection of veg, gravy, mini sausage in bacon and mini cauliflower cheese. Having eaten that, we... More
