Amazing!

Popped in after stumbling across The Greene Oak on a day out. Thought the service was on point, not too much in your face - but delivered on what they promised and also kept us in the loop as was a little concerned for their timings and serving us as there were 4 large groups just in front... read more

I have to say that everythIng on the menu look inviting - so much choice and all very original sounding dishes that it was a tough call to make. We went for the chateaubriand with fat chips braised shallots beer battered onions and cherry tomatoes and Tideham duck breast confit leg tortellini fondant potato green beans and masala sauce. It... It is not often that you can "pop out" to have lunch with friends and not pay much more than you would have done if you had stayed at home and fed them. We are talking about an excellent starter and main for less than £20.00 a head and with great service to go with it. Well done guys. All... More

Good atmosphere as gastro pub. As a northerner visiting the area we found it average quality and expensive. The crab ravioli was tasteless, the sirloin steak was tasty but neede additions to give satisfaction, adding to high cost. Cutlery was poor, unable to cut carrot. The locals must like this standard, as you need to book a table.

Went for a meal last night and the food was amazing. House smoked salmon to start followed by sirloin finished with a fantastic coconut tart. Had a really good cab sauv to compliment the main course too. Highly recommend.

We have eaten here for 8 years & enjoyed great food & outstanding service time & time again. Sadly no longer. It has been taken over by a pub chain & ruined. We wanted to book a table for 1 o'clock on sunday but told it had to be 12.45 then were told by the waitress at ten past one... More

This restaurant came highly recommended sadly I cannot reccomend unless you have about 3 hours to spare on a Sunday afternoon. Quite frankly it would be quicker to cook the roast at home! The starters were miniscule and the 2 that were ordered were promptly served within minutes of us sitting down a little too fast in fact because after... More

The Greene Oak was a local favourite for Sunday lunch. We hadn't been for a few months and hadn't realised that it had changed hands. What a change. The service was abysmal to say the least. A long wait for drinks. No water or bread. We had to ask for this. Starters came relatively quickly, but there was no sign... More

Been here a couple of times recently for Sunday lunch. Food is fabulous and well worth the (very reasonable) price and would be 5 stars. My only issue has been the service, which is far too slow, even when it is not busy. The nice thing is that you are not rushed, so a Sunday lunch, both times, took us... More
