Cuisines: European, British

Description: The Prince Albert restaurant in Londons Camden is a classic English boozer thats been transformed into a hip pub and restaurant without losing its air of relaxed comfort. The glazed olive tiles on the outside are still there and the al fresco tables in the beer garden, while inside, the floors are scrubbed wood, no two of the vintage chairs are a pair, the wooden tables dont mind if you lean on them and the ambience is chilled as can be. The Prince Albert is always full of models, media types and local devotees who love the traditional British menu and the friendly vibe. The Prince Alberts menus are there on the blackboard so they can change frequently to reflect the market and the seasons. Signature dishes include beef tomato and Brixham crab with guacamole, basil and herb oil; and Elwy Valley lamb roasted with rosemary, shallots, garlic and tomatoes.

The pub was packed but the Landlord saw us looking for somewhere to sit and came over to us and said he would have a table free in the restaurant in about 10 minutes -good customer service, especially as he knew we were not regulars. The food was very good, and plenty of it, not particularly cheap but not overpriced... More

We went there again as we had previously been OK with the standards, unfortunately it was a bit ety and the hygiene did not lok all that good, the staff clothing did not look very clean and scratching body parts when in front of customers was a little off putting. We had pur meal and this was the worst i... More

A chain of pubs that serve typical British pub food. My boys enjoyed the burgers and fish and chips. Good selection of beers. My favorite was the pie and pasty combo platter. 3 selections including steak and kidney pie, chicken pie and a beef pasty. Served with mushy peas ( not great ) and a small pitcher of the ever... The Prince Albert was in a great location on a busy strip close to our hotel. We were looking for a pub with a fun atmosphere and we found it! Overall the service was "okay," not especially good or bad. There was no cocktail server so we had to go to the bar to order our Fish and chips (delicious... More

Found myself there unexpectedly a few weeks ago - met a friend and decided to find somewhere to eat at the last minute - we were not seduced by the outside and expected just a pub meal, but were very pleasantly surprised. Extensive menu with some quite complicated dishes on offer. Not expensive and not crowded. I would certainly say... More

Superb english cusine in very nice sorroundings (we sat on the 1. floor, the sofa area). Great mash and gravy, which i can highly recommend as good english food. All in all way above average, and nice live music i might add.

Under new management now after refitting: the menu has been cut and the food is duff. Tiny burger with massive bun, club sandwich is all bread no filling. Manager couldn't work the till. Nice place to grab a pint and the prices scare the ruffians away, but it's not somewhere worth eating, despite it being my local.
