Friendly service and Old World charm

We popped into this gastro pub on a miserable English rainy day. The warm charming atmosphere soon cheered us up. The food selection was simple and homely. The service provided by Gabriela was friendly and attentive. We left feeling content and ready to face whatever the elements could throw at us.

Wondered into the Bel & Dragon and decided to have afternoon tea. Atmosphere was great, our waitress was lovely and polite - a real asset but didn't get her name! Selection of tea also a highlight, one of the best lemon and ginger teas I've had. On the downside, the cake of the day would have been better had I... More

Loved the vibe of this restaurant and it was 30 seconds from hotel and a minute from the river for a post dinner walk. Food was fab, had Scottish scallops although made me full so only got through half of my main!

Friendly staff, good menu, great food and a relaxing ambience. We had the roast chicken and the slow cooked lamb. Both were near perfect. The desserts were a little disappointing. It seems that many restaurants seem to have settled for generic dessert choices that can be swiftly served. The chocolate 'nemesis' was simply a brownie and other choices were also... More

We have been to this place a lot in the past year, old country pub, cosy & quaint with an a la carte & wine menu to die for... Recommend the Avo & Duck Egg starter and the Fillet Steak main! You MUST try the Espresso Martinis... Amazing! We sometimes pop in just for one of those. Great atmosphere on... More

Venue nice, staff friendly. Visited for tea or coffee as advertised as tea house but we both ended up being tempted by the Hot chocolate titled 'Proper Drinking Chocolate' and described as Melted Chocolate & Jersey Cream for £4. We expected this to be something more then we could make at home so were left disappointed when we actually got... More

Once more we visited the Bel & the Dragon for my Wife's Birthday celebration meal. We were certainly not disappointed. We were informed that the restaurant was seasonably quiet post Christmas, so we could choose any table to dine at, However, by the time we were mid meal, the place was humming with "walk Ins" which added to the atmosphere... Around 30 of us were booked into the Bel and Dragon whilst on conference. Location wise this is wonderful. Right opposite Windsor Castle. The restaurant is housed in a very old building which Im sure has lots of history. The inside is quite relaxed with cooby holes, wooden tables and chairs and lots of cushions. The menu is lovely and... More

This was a business dinner. The place is old so expected it to be tight but this was ridiculous. Barely room for our plates. The service was excellent and the food very good. Hard to get around how cramped we were though, could not wait to get out. The location is excellent. Atmosphere is very nice. Bathroom is up long... More

I have eaten at the Bell & Dragon a number of times, both in the evening and with work at lunch. The food is always superb. Its great for dinner with friends, colleagues or a romantic night out. Last year we went for the valentines special which was brilliant; unlike a lot of restaurants you we're not rammed in and... More
