No ghosts just good food

Visited this quaint restaurant whose building is steeped in history with ghostly rumours. We were a party of 8 who chose the venue on the spare of the moment. It was an inspired choice because the food and service was very good. The only downside on the night was the inability to offer after meal... read more

We were recommended this restaurant and the reviews looked good. Booked for 6 people for my husbands birthday. The restaurant was pretty full, it's not a very big place, it has an upstairs as well, but there were only 2 waiters 1 for downstairs and one for upstairs. It was only when we had been waiting ages and had people... More

Dear Sandra, we are very sorry that you were disappointed with your recent experience at Castello. As you know the restaurant was full – upstairs, downstairs and also some outside. We had served in excess of 200 customers that day and we were short staffed, as one of our waiting staff was off sick. Many of the customers were walk-ins... More

I visited Castello Windsor for lunch today and I have to say it was much better than expected. Given its location (being within close proximity of the castle) part of me expected it to be a bit of a 'tourist trap' - but I was wrong. For starter my husband and I shared the Gamberettino which was small prawns cooked... More

My husband and I had lunch at Castello in Windsor today and I must say it was very disappointing. So much so that I sent back my main course of chicken. It had been so overdone that it really tasted as if it had been cooked about three days ago and re-heated. I did not have a starter but my... More

Managed to get a table for 16 people after being at Ascot races no problem at all, a lot of other restaurants would not entertain us when ringing around. Staff were very welcoming and service was excellent, food and wine was great and a really nice atmosphere. Thank you!

Went to the restaurant as a walk in whilst visiting Windsor on a Friday evening with my husband and 4 year old son. Extensive menu and nice selection of specials. Staff were friendly, professional and welcoming. Can highly recommend this restaurant!

Visited Castellos while we were looking around Windsor. We popped in for lunch. We sat outside on a lovely sunny afternoon. The young waitress was friendly and attentive. The Pinot Grigio was good quality. We both ordered pasta. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. One of the best Italian restaurants we've been to. As we are moving to the... More

Very good Italian meal, kids menu came with huge pizza, had to pay extra for an ice cream though. Seafood tagliatelle was full of juicy mussels and prawns, Caesar salad was huge. House red was 19 quid. Would recommend above pizza express and prezzo chains for location, esp if you can sit out. Would go again

This is a lovely 16th century building in a great central location. Unfortunately it was a cold March evening when we visited and the door opened onto our table. There was a shared spotlight in the ceiling for our table and the table of four under the specials board. The waitress had to adjust this according to which table needed... More

Is a 1600's house, amazing place and the food is exquisite. The "Sofia Chicken" was my favorite. The service is very kind.
