Awesome

We had dinner in Gilbey's as a group of 9. Service was spot on and the restaurant was buzzing.  All the meals arrived at the same time and everyone enjoyed theirs. I can personally recommend the scallops with cauliflower puree for starter. The roast saddle of lamb was the 2nd best lamb I've ever... read more

Took a few customers to lunch after a meeting nearby. We were a bit tight on time as one of my guests had to get back to his office by 2:30. We arrived just after 12 and we were the only customers. We ordered a single course lunch each and continued our conversations as a few more people turned up... More

No children's menu although they did do sausage and chips for my 6 year old but charging over £20 for it was steep. Went after the Panto and they knew it was two young children as we told them but not really suitable and maybe they should have said. The food is great and the staff all very nice but... More

Went here for a Sunday roast, most places were busy on the Windsor side of the bridge and a friend reccomended Gilbey's, i called at 12.30 for a 13.15 reservation for two and it was no problem. On arrival they said would we like the from or the back , and whilst the fron is nice with the real fire... More

I love eating at Gilbeys, Eton. Service and food always very good. The front restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are always professional but friendly. A real treat!

We've been to Gilbey's twice in one month, just adorable little place. Great service, fabulous food, and reasonably priced. One very small gripe, the dessert of Bailey's creme brulee came with sponge trifle fingers, would have been better to have hand-made little biscuits rather than packet sponge fingers, as all the other food is so beautifully cooked and presented, the... Location and ambience is great, I think the mains are great, I would say the desserts are good, not sure the signature cheesecake is that strong, but you will have a great evening. Also service is really strong.

Compact but interesting menu cooked and presented very competently. Relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Simple steak and chips with peppercorn source revealed excellent quality meat and wonderfully light and crisp home made chips.

The studio apartment two flights up from the restaurant on High Street and just across the bridge from Windsor Castle in Eton was a surprise. After checking in the restaurant, the hostess showed us to the room and gave elaborate instructions for what to do if the fire alarm went off − not terribly reassuring. The room was actually quite... I have been living in Windsor for a while now and I had the chance (as I enjoy going out for dinner) to try most of the restaurants, bistros and pubs in the area and most of them more than once. If I have to mention one restaurant and one only, Gilbey’s would be my choice. In my view Gilbey’s... More
