It's at the top end of Fisherton street, under the railway bridge, on up, on your left. Bright, welcoming restaurant with fresh white linen covers. Excellent food, and not expensive.

...exactly like this one. I had been working at the family court, a few hundred yards away, in the morning, then came out at lunchtime and walked past several less-than-salubrious takeaways and pubs. Then I spied Hox Brasserie and it immediately appealed as clean and well ordered. I was offered a window seat and throughout my solo lunch was treated... More

Lovely meal friendly staff. Excellent all round. The food tasted great the chicken in both meals was succulent & moist. Recommend the sharing starter & garlic & coriander naan. Will definitely return. Lovely to see crisp white linen cloths & napkins & quirky cutlery. Restores my faith in Indian food.

I had the most amazing meal this week at Hox. We started with the most tender and fragrant lamb chops and Onion bhajis that were crisp and tasty ( I don't normally like onion bhajis, preferring pakoras instead). This was followed by a delicious lamb Laal Mans with aubergine crush and Dal Makhani as sides. The lamb was tender and... More

Three of us went for an early dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant is bright, airy and spotless with fresh linen on the tables and well presented staff. There is no annoying background music to disturb your perusal of an extensive menu. The obligatory poppadums are pleasantly dry with some fine accompaniments. We shared a mixed chef's choice starter... More

A really lovely visit to a good Indian restaurant. Slightly confused by its presentation on the website as South Indian inspired, with many non-South Indian meals - it's a glorified normal curry house, really. However, it is glorified. Food is better. Meat is better quality. Wine selection better. Combinations of spices more thoughtful. Service excellent. Decor tries to be trendy... More
