Good Pub Grub

Another enjoyable evening at 'The Wheatsheaf'“ I last reviewed this place back in December 2013, somewhere I like to visit for pub grub when visiting my daughter and husband who live in Salisbury. We live very very local to this pub and have been many times. But our last experience was enough now to tip me over the edge to not come back. Food was as always ok, but this time the £2.75 price tag for chips really bothered me, especially when they are served in a can that is clearly some sort... More

The Wheatsheaf Inn is located in a very attractive rural area of the County. The restaurant is large internally as are the outside dining areas on the patio and in the garden. The menu is similar to that provided elsewhere by other restaurants owned by the company. The food is very good, the service is excellent and the staff are... More

Popped in one Saturday lunchtime, the good service started from the moment we got through the door. We were shown to a table by a very friendly waitress who then took our drinks order. The restaurant was very busy but our food order was taken very quickly and our starter followed not long after that. We both had the small... More

Our friends suggested we went for lunch as they hadn't been here for about 30 years. It was ok inside, nothing special. We placed our order which was quickly served despite them being busy and to our horror (one of our friends ordered a burger which came with chips) the chips were served in an old baked bean style tin... Our tour guide Keith Ceeney from flying purple pig took us to this restaurant on our way to Stonehenge on a Saturday afternoon in April 2015. We called ahead for a reservation, our table was waiting for us upon arrival. The wait staff tended to us immediately but didn't crowd us in any way. The specials were explained in detail,... More

The weather was gorgeous and we decided to pop into the Wheatsheaf for lunch, the same plan as lot of other people. The gardens were very busy as was the restaurant but even though we did not book we managed to get a table. The service was good, the staff extremely friendly and the food was lovely. Even though it... More
