Pretty good.

Had dinner here recently. Very nice establishment. Very clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere and staff very friendly and helpful. Good selection of beers. Food was very nice except for Thai veg curry which was pretty tasteless. Otherwise an enjoyable experience.

My husband had had a half hour flight in a Tiger Moth at Old Sarum airfield, watched by a lot of family and friends. We came to this pub for a late lunch and it was a most pleasant experience. There were 11 of us. The service was friendly, efficient and prompt. The men enjoyed their ale, the ladies their... More

I went here recently with my other half and sat down at a table of two. The staff seemed a little busy but polite none the less, although they were a little stretched which led to them being a bit distracted. We had the Mezze board to start which was actually disappointing. A little bland and dry but after that... More

Never have I paid so much for a glass of wine, although a little larger than a regular glass this bog standard Pinot cost £6.10 ! Outrageous given the same Pinot was £5.29 a bottle in the shops. I was not alone in my shock two other customers at the bar declared it Disgraceful.

The garden was lovely and spacious - we sat and had a drink before we ate our meals. The food was ok - it would of been nice to have some green veg with our roast and I didn't really have any gravy. What I had though was very tasty. The chocolate brownie was yummy! It took a while to... More

We often have visited the wheatsheaf and of late found the food to be acceptable. Having said that we visited last Saturday and was very disappointed. My son had chicken with cheese on top. It was over cooked and tasteless. My wife asked for a gammon steak and got 2 overcooked slices of bacon. I had a rump steak which... More

We were unfortunate as the children's playground was being revamped and we weren't told this when booking (we chose to meet here as we had 3 children with us). However the service was good and the food was nice. A very appetizing menu. My friend rated the lamb kebabs highly. The mini deserts were disappointing compared to last time I... More

Definitely go again as our first visit was awesome. Bit of trek off main trunk road but easy to find. Quite price but happy to pay for the quality and quantity.

Some 15minutes drive out of Amesbury through the Upper and Middle Woodfords. A very pleasant welcoming pub with equally pleasant and welcoming staff. The food and beer were excellent and served reasonably quickly. Not full in March BUT I can see it getting very busy during the Summer and at weekends so probably advisable to book in advance and dine... More

First visit here for some time although I was looking forward to it, ended up being fairly underwhelmed. The Wheatsheaf is an attractive pub in a lovely location but the food could be so much better. Most of the food served seemed to be of standard "chain" pub quality and lacked anything to make it memorable. Edible but dull. Service... More
