We travelled some distance to meet our friends at a halfway point here. On each occasion we find a decline in the experience. The service was poor and thoughtless, I suspect mainly through lack of training and the fact the staff seemed to be working around an 11 hour day with not much interest in the business as a result.... Myself and partner have been coming here for years as locals and now we have 2 small boys in the brood we visit as a family from time to time. I'm so disappointed how much the quality of this pub has gone downhill over the years. It's in such a stunning location and the premesis itself is gorgeous but that's... More

Been a few times. Always good service although little slow for a Monday afternoon but it did look as though there was an elderly party which was unexpected. Not an issue thought as there is plenty of room. Food was OK, but not to the standard previously experienced. Pretty standard menu. I'm still over the slate/wooden board thing so had... More

A beautiful cycle from Salisbury brought us to the door of this gorgeous pub in the country. Great food, great service and a really lovely friendly atmosphere. Would recommend without hesitation. We will be back!

Used to be a great eatery. Paid over nine pounds for a Cornish pasty and a few chips. The pasty was unimpressive and not unlike any picked up in a supermarket. Very disappointed given past experiences with this once great place. Staff very friendly and service good. Still a nice pub but the food and prices are letting it down.

In addition, I was given a limited Badger Ale called Shapwick Monster for Fathers Day by the fantastic staff at the Wheatsheaf. It was a light and refreshing ale. Extremely drinkable.

A group of us visited the nearby excellent Heale Gardens then decended upon this pub for lunch. The location is truly tranquil on a really quiet road through the Woodfords. A good welcome from friendly staff. The food order materialised in a few minutes, despite the pub being busy. Really good pub style food representing excellent value--everyone commented upon the... Spent a very pleasant evening at the Wheatsheaf last Sunday and although we were told that as it was Fathers Day and the restaurant had been busy for hours when we arrived we could see everything was under control and our dinner was excellent and service quick but not rushed. My family have been quite regular users of this pub... More

Fantastic location, we followed the directions on the pub website and went for a walk, by the time we returned, we needed a meal and a drink. Food was delivered very quickly, hot and tasteful. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much to ask, we would certainly go back again, have a walk and a bite to eat... More
