Lovely lunch

Popped in for a quick lunch not having been in the pub for years. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was lovely and came quickly. We had sandwiches and chips - what a change to find chips which come from potatoes rather than bags. They were excellent! Two real ales on, one local and one... read more

Visited the Bridge Inn for Sunday lunch today with the family. The food looked and tasted fantastic. The contrasting dark green Savoy cabbage, orange root vegetable puree and purple red cabbage was a feast for the senses. The meat itself was also fantastic. We went for the tasting platter so that we could try all three meats. The waitress on... More

We received a lovely warm welcome from the manager and the roaring log fire!! .The menu was interesting and the food arrived promptly , It all looked very well presented and tasted delicious. The chips were the best I have had for ages. Didn't sample the puds.... Save that for our next visit!

Visited Tuesday lunchtime about 1. Pub nicely presented on the outside, recently decorated and signed, nice beer garden in front of the river. It was too cold for that so we ate inside. I had the wild mushroom risotto - it was excellent, and J had the coc-au-vin - again beautiful. We could only manage a pudding between us so... More

Dear David, Thank you for your lovely review and we are so glad you enjoyed your meal! As you noticed we don't have too many decorations up on the wall of our pub, but we are doing a bit of a make over in January so we are sure you'll be pleasantly surprised when you return. Many Thanks, Kelly More

We went to a children's party at the Bridge Inn and whilst there had a meal,The Meat Pie,Choice of potato and steamed vegetables was absolutely delicious. The pastry on the pie was lovely and the chunks of beef was so tender it melted in your mouth, the steamed veg was cooked to perfection, and was piping hot. I will certainly be going... More

Three of us visited on Saturday for lunch. We had some very nice drinks including poppy bitter, cherry cola (not Coca Cola), which was soooo yummy & a rose lemonade. Our food was pork belly, mushroom risotto & fish finger sandwich. I had the risotto & it was the best I had in a long time, it was very tasty,... More

We want to our first supper club night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Wonderful food and great hosts. Such a treat for a Monday evening. Looking forward to going back.

I came here for lunch mid-walk, and the first impression was good- a nice, cosy fire and a pleasant setting. The girl who took my order at the bar seemed as uninterested as possible, though, and was quite abrupt with me. I then waited over an hour, and was just about to leave, when my food came (along with NO... More

I am really disappointed to hear you had such a bad experience when you visited us. Unfortunately we were short staffed at the time and although this is no excuse for the upset caused from your visit I do hope that you will consider visiting again. If you would like to come back and ask for myself I will personally... More

We booked a table for dinner. The pub was empty, bar some teenagers and a very inexperience barman. Our drinks order was taken, I asked for a glass of Chilean white wine - he poured a large glass without asking me if I would like a large one! My partner asked for a bitter shandy. The got a pint of... More

Just had a great meal here despite the chef being let down by absent staff. He was Barman, chef, front of house and Potman!!! The glazed ham and brace of duck eggs were gorgeous and he made up for his limited menu with a complimentary sticky toffee pud-YUMMY!!!!!
