Pretty decent fish and chips, but the fish/ batter was rather too salty for my taste. The blonde lady serving was a bit of a misery chops too and gave us a right scowl when we had a minor chuckle about the veggie sausage being cooked in beef dripping so not being vegetarian. Bit of an awkward wait for our... More

Heard a lot about it and thought we would give it a try. The decor was dull but the staff were friendly. No complaints about the food although expensive at £13.95 for fish and chips on a plate when we could have taken them away for less than half of that. This was multiplied by 3 and if you add... I understand that Bretts has changed hands since the beginning of this year and unfortunately it has not maintained the previous standard. At lunchtime we were given bread and butter complete with green mould, which definitely coloured our view of lunch. It was replaced with apology by the young waitress, whom we could not fault; however, the food was slow... More

I go to this fish and chip shop as it's the only one in headingley centre when at Uni working late. In comparison to other fish shops in Leeds, the prices are high and the quality isn't reflected. The chips were £1.60 for a small bag! 95p for curry. I have variety of fish and chips near my house is... More

Brilliant, brilliant fish and chips. Not sure how they cook them but they are so tasty and come with 'bits' which is an added bonus.

The food was really nice with a cosy little restaurant. However it was extremely expensive for a large fish and chips and drink for over £17 if I remember correctly.

More expensive than i expected but the quality of the fish was very good, we had scampi and haddock. The scampi was among the best ive had. The portions of chips were far too large for all of us including my dad so they must be big, and did put me off abit. The interior didnt make you feel though... More

well well well Bretts, the increase in prices have made me less willing to attend the ritual of fishy Friday, instead I have to opt for the cheaper option of a sausage. as much as I like sausages (being German) I prefer them in-between a bagel. also how about a potential double layer of cheesy chips? also is the main... The best quality fish & chips in Leeds , fish is cooked fresh and is well worth the wait .There is a seating area outside the takeaway section and is under cover .The restaurant is very traditional but a little on the pricey side .
