The menu says: 'due to restricted space all drinks must be accompanied by a food item.' I didn't get the logic of this peremptory rubric (by the way, that should be 'owing to'). On a busy Sunday afternoon there were plenty of tables to be had. All we really needed was a cup of tea but the mandatory... read more

Nice assortment of light to substantial lunch plates at this indoor-outdoor space overlooking the gardens. Pleasant and capable staff served us well and made us feel welcome without being stuffy about it. Tables were a bit small and strangely configured so that we bumped our knees and jostled the table every time we moved when seated. Had trouble keeping the... More

The service was very poor in that although the sign states it is table service, we had to go and look for someone to take our order even though it had very few customers. The food that was served was not very special for the high price that is paid and the service was very poor and not what is... More

On a nice day this is a wonderful place to stop. It is a bit expensive, so be prepared! We only wanted coffee but it said on the menu that drinks were only served with food. However, we asked the waitress, and she said it was fine as it was not busy at the time we were there. The pot... More

My friend and I enjoyed a lunch here during a day out in the gardens. Plenty of high chairs to accommodate her son. Lunch menu was small but our salads were tasty and quickly prepared. Staff were friendly and helpful. Several reviews have mentioned no afternoon tea but it was definitely advertised whilst we were visiting.

I have been here mainly times and absolutely love the house, it's gardens and knowledgeable friendly staff. I love Harewood. I regularly take visiting friends there and on occasion go for what was a very luxurious decadent afternoon tea in The Terrace Cafe. Tea, scones, little sandwiches and cakes done on a tiered stand. Their cafe did it ever so... More

Did not use facility after seeing prices on the menu. There is no way a family with children on a budget could eat on the terrace at those prices. Fish & Chip bar looked better value but was not open on day of visit. Would recommend bring a picnic to eat in the grounds.

We visited with 2 friends - making 4 of us for which "afternoon tea" cost £50!! This may have been acceptable if the afternoon tea had been high class but sadly it was far from that. 3 quarter sandwiches each, a very large (and quite dry) scone, with jam and cream already applied (think ver dry scone sandwich). The tea... More

This is such a treat to have afternoon tea on the Terrace, the food is lovely and it is good place to relax with wonderful views after walking in the spacious grounds. Classy!
