Some people turn their noses up at the thought of 'students' cooking their lunch as apposed to experienced chefs, however, what you need to realise is that these people are being judged on the food quality by assessors so it needs to be of a high standard. It is very reasonably priced and tasted lovely!

Enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea with prosecco in this lovely restaurant. Great looking place with its own art gallery. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. Will be returning in December to experience their Christmas lunch.

Really enjoyed my first visit here today. We had a lovely table at a window. There was a bit of sun coming in. The gallery feel of the place was magnificent. I had a steak sandwich and my partner the field sharing platter (not sure if it was enough for sharing but enough for him as a lunch item). Both... More

Great looking venue the décor and the art is wonderful. We went for lunch today 6/9/13 and found that there were two set of views from this top floor restaurant, one facing the lovely old red brick covered Victorian shopping arcade the other over looking a tatty car park. The restaurant only had a few dinners so getting a table... More

Visited here as a party of four having purchased two Wowcher deals. The sandwiches were lovely (ham and mustard, salmon and horseradish and egg) and the staff only too happy to change salmon for extra egg. The scones were the nicest scones I have ever had and came with Tiptree jam and lots of clotted cream. The cake selection was... More

I had bought a Wowcher voucher for afternoon tea and so rang the restaurant to book my visit. The young man I spoke to seemed a little unsure about booking me a table and then when I mentioned I had a voucher told me they were full. I was surprised as I wanted to visit on Friday afternoon. It was... More

Had afternoon tea for two people this weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. The scones were as light as air and barely even needed cutting. The homemade ice cream (served in very cute little dishes) was, honestly, the best ice cream either of us has ever had; not an ice crystal to be found and with a gorgeous dark, roasted... More

Got a wowcher for a cream tea for two costing £10 (half price). Found the restaurant slightly grubby to be honest, needed a good sweep and clean. Lots of crumbs and dirt along the floor. Outlook not as nice as expected either. Service was very good, attentive and friendly. However the sandwiches were dry (not very fresh bread) and the... More

Just been to this restaurant for the first time, very impressed with the service to start with, although it was quiet when I arrived. Chose from the dip menu for a starter the pork satay and whitebait with garlic mayo was fantastic and the four cheese welsh rabbit was great too. Chose the slow roasted Lamb for the main course... I can't believe that we've been dining next door at the overpriced & relatively poor Harvey Nicks and missed this little gem! We had a Ploughman's Lunch & sea sharing plate both priced at £6.50. Both were excellent & terrific value. With copious amounts of wine & a coffee our total bill came to only £37.30. This was one of... More
