Nice for a treat

The Woolpack has finished it's transformation and is now being marketed as Cork and Claw which hints at their focus on good wine and seafood. We visited as a party of 7 and having rung earlier in the week to reserve a table were asked to pre-order our food to help the staff - bear this in mind... read more

Such a refreshing surprise on walking in. Had heard it was good but so much better than that. The staff were delightful especially the new Spanish chap, so pleasing and helpful. The menu was incredible and the food matched.

I have lived locally for 17 years, but never tried the food at The Woolpack as it was just another Pub food type place. But not anymore after noticing it had recently be refurbished myself and my friends decided to try it for a mid week meal. Wow we were amazed the food, and service was fabulous. It is a... More

Living locally, we popped down to The Woolpack for come dinner as we knew they had a relaunched menu. They are clearly trying to be a point of difference between those pubs with a 'pile em high, sell 'em low' philosophy, so this might be slightly dearer than previous. Quality was excellent. We had Fillet Steak and Cork & Claw... More

The food is great and presented well - expensive for a local pub at the £11 - £13 price for an average main course but the food is worth the cost. What lets it down is the service - when you a charging the above prices in what is a local pub environment the service as well as the food... More

First time we have visited The Woolpack as my parents have just moved into Yeadon. We had a lovely time, got seated straight away without booking which is sometimes difficult for a family of 6. Food was cooked really well and presented nicely. We had mains and then desert. White chocolate cheesecake was gorgeous!

We used to come here when it was a proper pub that served really nice pub food. Now it is a local pub trying to punch above its weight. The menu was mostly fish. It was quite expensive for what it was. Portion sizes were not what you expect for a pub. The atmosphere was stiff and seemed quite forced.... More

I can do a decent roast. But didn't want to! Bad roast dinners make me want to stay in a cook it myself. Lunch at the woolpack today was 1st class. Lovely starter (s)(Mushrooms in a cream sauce on toast) Followed by some great Beef with all the trimmings (as expected) even got some crackling! There was a choice of... More

Having enjoyed several vists ton theWoolpack for a drink, my husband chose to eat there with friends to celebrates his birthday. Our first difficulty was booking a table - having failed to get through on the phone, we sent an email. Having had no reply after two days, we tried calling again with no success, and resorted to driving there... More
