We were a party of six, all with different tastes from vegetarian to neanderthal meat eaters. All were delighted with their meals. The starters were superb, the main courses absolutely wonderful. A new dishon the menue, 'Jacobs Ladder', a surprise, a vast amount of beautifully cooked beef, that literally shredded under the fork. The steaks, I am assured melted in... More

What a change since we last ate here. Was a wharfbank pub before and it looks to have ripped of those shackles and developed its own identity. The staff were great and attentive, we were slightly put off by a table of 5 outside who were swearing way to much and clearly drunk (5pm) that won't put us off though.... More

So living a mere 5 minutes away we are kicking ourselves we hadn't been here before. The wool pack of old was a proper old boozer, but dark . The transformation is huge . This is a great concept , food from quality suppliers , live lobster from Ramos and steak from sykes. Our starters . Prawns , moles and... More

We stopped off for a quick drink on our way from Leeds, the service from the moment we entered the door was far superior than any we have had in australia! We had the crevettes which were fantastic, the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff was brilliant. Cannot recommend this place enough! Fantastic.

This is our local, and for a drink and relaxing atmosphere, it is a really lovely pub. But on Friday we decided to stay for some food as the menu looks great. Firstly, the food is overpriced for what you get. Although the food was nice, is wasn't amazing, and I had the fish skewers, which consisted of one skewer,... More

A recently opened restaurant and a great transformation of the former Woolpack pub. A chic sea themed decor and menu to match with a wide choice of dishes. We turned up on a Friday evening without having booked and were found a table despite being busy. Service was excellent and attentive . The food was well worth the wait. The... More

A group of friends and I visited the Cork and Claw based at the Woolpack on Tuesday. There were 6 of us that were all greeted upon arrival with friendly smiles from the smart staff and seated by the pleasant duty manager. We were brought menu's and 'express lunch' menu's and informed of all that was going on - (£9.75... More

Sometimes we are lucky enough to get reviews such as this one, especially after a busy and hectic week. When people know their seafood and like it just the way it should be cooked then its all the more satisfying. I remember cooking you the pink cajun Tuna (hope it wasn't too spicy). Top quality seafood is something very special... More

Really lovely meal, just a little more expensive than expected for the seafood sharing platter. Beautiful establishment and our waiter Jamie was fantastic! Definitely worth a visit if you're a seafood fan!

Hi there Nikita, Thank you very much for the lovely comments on the food and the service. Dining here in June, excellent. Buzzing, wel staffed, excellent food. July? Well, where to begin! Half empty, staff wandering around with plates of food asking if we'd ordered it, staff blaming staff for putting orders on incorrect tickets . Customers at the bar asking where there food was, as they'd been waiting so long. One customer getting rather heated as... More
