First time ... Not disappointed

We gave its predecessor The Woolpack a wide berth as it was a pub first and very clicky...not inviting. Under the rebranded cork and flaw the emphasis is clearly on quality food and a new menu that works well. That said , black sheep is still there to accompany the food which is a bonus. We both... read more

Whilst staying overnight for an early flight out of Leeds Airport I was lucky enough to read a review on TripAdvisor recommending The Cork and Claw at The Woolpack. We were greeted by a warm friendly young man who couldn't have made us feel more welcome (I've had a holiday since then but think his name was Danny). The menu... More

We tried the Woolpack one Friday night at around 8pm and it was still very busy. The menu is predominantly fish based - but the burgers did look very good as they passed. Although not cheap the standard and quality of the meal was worth every penny and we will definitely be returning. There are several good pubs locally offering... More

We usually struggle to find nice places that offer a wide range of food that is suitable for vegetarians (we eat seafoods) Absolutely pleased with the menu we ordered home made chips, onion rings, lobster, fish screwers with a veggi pie, and desserts. We was not disappointed at all! All the food was well cooked and seasoned, tasty and reasonably... More

My wife and I called in here for lunch on Friday. There was a nice hum about the place but it wasn't overly busy. We asked about a sandwich and were not offered a menu simply told what sandwiches were available...hence we were not aware of the price! I had a tasty hot beef and onion on a granary baguette... The staff could not have been more pleasant or attentive. The restaurant is spotless and well laid out for comfortable eating. And the food, well, simply wonderful, all four of us had a thoroughly enjoyable eating experience, relaxed, well fed and well looked after.

Such a refreshing surprise on walking in. Had heard it was good but so much better than that. The staff were delightful especially the new Spanish chap, so pleasing and helpful. The menu was incredible and the food matched.

The Woolpack has finished it's transformation and is now being marketed as Cork and Claw which hints at their focus on good wine and seafood. We visited as a party of 7 and having rung earlier in the week to reserve a table were asked to pre-order our food to help the staff - bear this in mind if you... More

I have lived locally for 17 years, but never tried the food at The Woolpack as it was just another Pub food type place. But not anymore after noticing it had recently be refurbished myself and my friends decided to try it for a mid week meal. Wow we were amazed the food, and service was fabulous. It is a... More

Living locally, we popped down to The Woolpack for come dinner as we knew they had a relaunched menu. They are clearly trying to be a point of difference between those pubs with a 'pile em high, sell 'em low' philosophy, so this might be slightly dearer than previous. Quality was excellent. We had Fillet Steak and Cork & Claw... More
