Ranked #149 of 1,325 Restaurants in Leeds
Cuisines: Asian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Halal
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations, Delivery, Late Night
Description: Situated on the rather swish York Place, close to Leeds mainline railway station, Miah’s Place is an Indian restaurant with a wow factor. Right from the outset you really know that you’re in for something special – the restaurant is set within one of the old red brick buildings, behind wrought iron low fencing, its subtle signage indicating that Miah’s Kitchen, a small scale chain making waves throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is perhaps a little more special than your average Indian eatery. Through the portico-ed front door you’ll enter a stylish dining room furnished in an unusual Art Deco inspired style, with ball topped lamps, sensuous lines and low slung leather seating, all in low key tones. Miah’s Kitchen offers an extensive menu of old Indian favourites, ranging from tandoori dishes to biryanis and baltis as well as a good collection of specialties created especially for the restaurant, using contemporary and traditional techniques. Surprisingly affordable, Miah’s Kitchen provides an upmarket take on Indian dining without the price tag.

Really pleasant evening, first time here, staff were excellent, very attentive but not overbearing. Nice atmosphere we had a booth down the side which was nice & cosy, but the overall ambience was good. Food was excellent, usual menu with a few interesting dishes new to me. All served on warm plates from piping hot serving bowls. Nice modern, subtle decor... More

we went to miah's kitchen because of TripAdvisor. It is not far from the station but obviously too far away for tourists to find it. we were absolutely glad with our desicion: the atmosphere is nice and elegant, the staff very helpful and smiling all the time. and the food was great! we would go again!

Tried to eat at another restaurant in town but transpires they were closed on Mondays. I was recommended this restaurant by the concierge at a nearby Leeds city centre hotel who admitted that he had never eaten here, but had good reports from others. Good menu with a few new dishes (that is, new to me) and we were not... More

We have been customers of this restaurant for over 2 years now and we keep on going back. We love the food, the service and the atmosphere. The food is rich, flavoursome and made with decent sized and good quality meat, which isn't always the case in Indian restaurants. The curry sauces are vibrant and full of character, not to... More

Went Saturday night using a groupon voucher travelled from Bradford, easy to find using sat-nav and good street parking. What makes this place is the quality and presentation of the food and great customer service. We had chicken pakoras' and lamb tikka starters. Garlic chicken tikka bhuna and lamb biryani mains all were excellent. We received complimentary ice cream which... More

Had intended to visit this place for some time and eventually availed myself of a Group On voucher. At first the member of staff answering the phone was hesitant to give me a booking on a Friday night with the voucher but agreed after consultation with the manager. First impressions are of modernity and space- miles away from your typical... More

Had poppadoms - lovely a crispy with excellent dips. Then went in for a Chicken Tikka Garlic Bhuna, with Onion Baji's and a Peshwari Naan for sides. You can always tell an Indian by its Naan bread, and this particular Peshwari, well just go try it.......outstanding

League above all others. Starters exceptional as was main, very nice house wine red, brilliant service surroundings and food and complimentary ice cream at end was wonderful . Although 6 hours to get there was worth it

We have now eaten at both restaurants in Leeds and found them to be excellent. The service is second to none, the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and the cuisine is excellent! Try the Chicken Shashlik it is delicious and the portion is so large, I always end up bringing some home with me to enjoy. Will definitely be... More
