Ranked #149 of 1,315 restaurants in Leeds
Cuisines: Asian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Halal
Dining options: Reservations, Delivery, Late Night
Description: Situated on the rather swish York Place, close to Leeds mainline railway station, Miah’s Place is an Indian restaurant with a wow factor. Right from the outset you really know that you’re in for something special – the restaurant is set within one of the old red brick buildings, behind wrought iron low fencing, its subtle signage indicating that Miah’s Kitchen, a small scale chain making waves throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is perhaps a little more special than your average Indian eatery. Through the portico-ed front door you’ll enter a stylish dining room furnished in an unusual Art Deco inspired style, with ball topped lamps, sensuous lines and low slung leather seating, all in low key tones. Miah’s Kitchen offers an extensive menu of old Indian favourites, ranging from tandoori dishes to biryanis and baltis as well as a good collection of specialties created especially for the restaurant, using contemporary and traditional techniques. Surprisingly affordable, Miah’s Kitchen provides an upmarket take on Indian dining without the price tag.

Visited Miah's Kitchen today and can't speak highly enough, chicken tikka starter and a lamb tikka jalfrezi. The lamb was wonderful no fat at all just tender meat beautifully cooked. Perfect fluffy rice and an excellent nan bread. Next visit to Leeds I'll be back.

This restaurant was recommended by my god- daughter so we decided to try it. We had an excellent meal, very tasty. I'd like to say as well how friendly and pleasant all the staff were.

It was a lovely meal, nothing wrong with it at all and would go back, but I personally have enjoyed better curries. We had a mixed starter which was excellent and had chicken saag for main. Just lacked a bit of sauce for me, but it was lovely

First time in Leeds and Miah's Kitchen provided excellent food, great service and outstanding hospitality. I wanted to try something different and staff took time to provide advice, also offered to make it to my desired taste. Really enjoyed the meal which was great value for money. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

First class service, great value, wonderful food. This came as a recommendation from our hotel (thanks Matt - Crown Plaza) and exceeded all of our expectations. If you like tasty and hot, there's a Bangladeshi dish which (although not for the faint-hearted) is the best I've ever had!!! Sal's hospitality can't be topped!! 10 out 10 for every category.

In leeds watching Tour de France and our hotel rep recommended the restaurant. The food was brilliant and the staff were great at explaining what was in each dish. In our party of four we were all delighted with our meals and thought it was one of the best curries we had eaten for awhile. We come from Glasgow so... More

Looked up Miah's Kitchen on Trip Adviser and decided to go for an early evening curry. ( we didn't book but would probably recommend it if going later). This has to be one of the best curries I have had in a long while. The dishes were fresh and nicely spiced, you could really taste the various vegetables. Service was... More

Was looking for a local Indian restaurant near train station. Found this on internet with good reviews. Not disappointed. Thought it a bit strange having a fried egg on top of my chicken byriani, but it did work. Very tasty all round. One downside, they had an issue with alcohol licensing so couldn't sell alcohol. You could bring your own... More
