Went to celebrate my brothers 30th Birthday with family and close friends. there was 14 of us in total. 7 of us wanted a menu choice rather than the carvery. Waitress was a bit vague when taking orders and as such 6 meals when they arrived had to go back. Lasagne was only like warm, surf and turf came without... More

We went here for Mother's Day (Sunday) as the carvery is usually great. We were shown into the back room and served a first round of drinks and then pretty much ignored for the rest of the evening. Having sat staring at our empty plates and glasses for so long (and indeed the dirty tables of un-cleared debris all around... More

Looking for somewhere to have lunch and not knowing the area too well, we called here as it was conveniently situated off a roundabout and there seemed to be plenty of parking. We were greeted by a friendly person who gave us the option of various tables and presented with a menu and took our drinks order, which arrived with... More

Travelled up from the Midlands to have a 'special' meal with family that my sister had booked ! Sign on the door told us that there was ONLY the carvery available? We were given a sheet for the children to colour but no crayons. When we asked a handful of broken crayons arrived but they hadn't bothered to realise they... More

Unfortunately 10 of us ate at The Woodside on 20/02/2015....it was the worst eating experience I have ever had. There was no carvery, no steaks, no salads, no fish and chips!! The food we did get was very poor: pie from yesterday, dry and tough meat; slimy chicken in burgers and order messed up so wrong burgers sent out. I... More

I visited this morning for breakfast with the family. This is the second time I have had breakfast here. The first visit was not great but I always like to give a place a second chance. We normally go to the Toby Carvery up the road but the Woodside serve breakfast later. I ordered 2 adult and 2 children's breakfasts,... More

Took our little boy for a midweek tea treat. The young lady that served us was friendly and helpful. The carvery meat was nicely cooked and so was the veg. Generous helpings of the meat and friendly service. The décor was worn and tired but that didn't detract from the food. Will happily go back.

My family and I, 15 of us in all went along to The Woodside on Saturday afternoon. It was easy to find a place for us all together and the young woman serving was very helpful moving chairs was very helpful. I ordered for my children a nacho platter to share and a combo platter to share which arrived fairly... More
