We visited midweek as part of a larger group. The place was quite strange, it needed a clean, and was absolutely freezing inside (the solution suggested by the owner was to all sit closer together!) The owner himself was also a bit strange, very scruffy appearance and switched between being quite jokey, and being very abrupt. As for the food,... More

I was visiting Leeds with my wife and three boys to see a show and we all love eastern mediterranean food. We booked Fairuz due to it's location close to the Premier Inn and I wish I hadn't. From the outside it doesn't look much and inside wasnt much better. The service was friendly and the food was just about... More

We spotted Fairuz under the Merrion Centre a couple of years ago now, and looked up its reviews out of curiosity, as we were interested in having Lebanese food (though the location is unprepossessing). Everyone said the same: unremarkable location, but the food is excellent. So we tried it, and it was indeed excellent. We've now been back several times,... More

Went again recently with a group of 11, the food was as fantastic as ever, amazing variety of meze. Always go for the chef's selection! This of the kind of place you will talk about for a long time afterwards. Don't be put off by the unpolished exterior - it is all about the flavours.

They got the short straw for location and premises but apart from that this is an excellent place to eat. Great friendly service and advice, good choices of Lebanese and generic near eastern food. The mazes are excellent and all can be washed down with super Lebanese wine and arabian coffee. The lamb fillet in lime and cardamon is great.

Great food, authentic and fresh. Owner is very friendly and helped advise us on which dishes to have & even gave us 15% off for our next visit. Would definitely go again.

Fairuz has been in Leeds for decades, long before all the other Middle Eastern cafes and restaurants. It has stiff competition today, but is still worth a visit for its authentic Lebanese/Palestinian food.

Food and wine was excellent - we ordered loads of starters to share as a main and all of them were excellent. Really good price for the quality.

I've been here a couple of times now based on a friends recommendation. The food is authentic and of a good standard, with plenty of choice for all requirements. The sharing dishes are particularly tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming. The only negative is that the house beer Efes is unnecessarily expensive at £5 a bottle...perhaps avoid that!
