The restaurant opened in 2008 and since has built a reputation for good quality service and food - and with its comfortable, contemporary interior, superb food and extensive affordable wine list, has rapidly become one of the most popular destination restaurants in the city for both lunch and dinner.Situated at West Point on Wellington Street, this Italian ristorante has a highly experienced team ready to create delicious authentic Italian dishes using fresh local produce and imported Italian specialities - all served with a delightful mix of Mediterranean panache and Yorkshire warmth and value. They show passion for customer service and when asked what makes Primo different - The answer is simple: Italian staff, quality of customer service, great menu created from typical Italian dishes using only fresh - not frozen - ingredients and nevertheless, the value for money compared to quality of food and wine.

Fab Express Lunchtime Menu

Hadn't been to Primo for a few months and went for lunch with the girls on Tuesday. We had the Express menu and I chose the chicken with tomatoes and olives and it was fantastic - great value and delicious as ever. In fact, it was so nice that I went again for lunch on Thursday. I'm rather picky about my Italian food and felt that this used sauces and condiments rather too much. A bit of a French-Italian combo in style. I prefer more traditional and regional and think there is quite enough to explore there rather than messing about with it, but that is just my opinion. I felt it rather overpriced for what... More

We have passed this placed lots of times. We have always mentioned going in so after a seminar in Leeds at the White Cloth Gallery we decided to walk over the road to Primos for dinner. The interior was lovely & we were greeted by a friendly waitress who immediately took us to our table. Not great as it was... More

I visited as part of a large group, and despite the numbers the service was excellent with friendly staff and very good food. I had the stuffed mushrooms followed by peppercorn steak which I would recommend.

Visited with family for a quiet dinner on a Friday night; pleasantly surprised with all aspects, except perhaps the location. The staff were all very pleasant and despite a couple of misunderstandings ordering was very easy. The food was very good and portion size generous, well priced too with a good selection on the menu (both food and drinks). Overall... More

Ate here on Saturday night and we couldn't have been more impressed. The food was stunning and the service was excellent, very professional and competent. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, will definitely be going back very soon.

The Food was fine but the service was slow and shoddy and this was on a night when they were not very busy and had a good staff to customer ratio. I had Funghi Ripieni to start which was good but was served on a slate - one of my pet hates, WE WANT PLATES! My Quatro Stagiono Pizza was... More

Great selection of Italian cuisine. I went for a classic carbonara that was delicious. The portions are very generous, the garlic bread starters for example being pizza sized. You get complementary bread too to start. Service was fine, some staff seem new and little unsure, but it didn't I anyway detract from the meal and dining experience.

A nice pre dinner cocktail to start. The food here wasn't bad. The garlic bread & tomato pizza was lovely. My chocolate & venison ravioli was a bit salty but still tasted nice. We have been to nicer Italian's but still enjoyed it here. Worth a try.
