We have eaten here many times over the years and it's never let us down. The fish and chips are always cooked to perfection in a lovely golden batter. The takeaway section is equally as good if you want to take a substantial sized portion home. Thank you Marlows.

I do not know why I should have been surprised possibly because it was not very busy for a Saturday lunchtime. The Restaurant is attached to the main fish and chip shop and the meal is freshly prepared and brought through by a most attentive waitress. The place is spotless as are the toilets. We opted for the 'Pensioners special'... More

When up north, you have to have fish and chips (although some southerners can also hack this national dish). Having read the positive reviews on TA, I decided to give this place a try. It's "out of town" in a residential area of Leeds, and not where you would expect to find such an establishment. Free car parking and a... More

Went for an early supper last week & enjoyed the food, the batter was crisp, fish well cooked & the chips were good. My opinion on getting to the next stage ie excellent would be to increase the portion sizes, there are many restaurants which offer far better & larger meals for less money. The staff were good, attentive &... More

Marlow's is a family tradition but it was my first visit and having heard so much about it I wasn't disappointed. On a quiet Monday afternoon we were treated superbly with freshly cooked food and attentive and very helpful staff. I can now see why the family have been coming here for years and I am sure I will be... More

Marlow's is great. Nothing fancy or pretentious. Just a good, traditional fish and chip shop. The take out meals are great but tonight we sat in. They have been doing a deal for ages - 2 x fish & chips, tea or coffee or soft drink each and a slice of bread. Approx £13,50. What a deal. The food is... More

I have lived near Marlow's for over 20 years and used to recommend it to my friends. I went off it years ago as everything seemed to be cooked too early and left waiting for the customers! Thought I would give it a try again as there is a notice about fish being cooked to order. The fish was fine... More

My family lives in the US, but we have a lot of relatives in Leeds, and Marlow's is on the list of places we make a point of going to at least 3 times -- any time we visit the relatives ... yes it's THAT good. It not an oily fish wrapped in newspaper kind of place, but rather a... More

Its not pretentious. Its just a very outstanding traditional chippy. The people are nice. There is plenty on site parking, its fairly priced and they take card payment too.

Visited with a friend for lunch, we were given a warm welcome and attended to quickly shown an extensive menu for a fish restaurant. The food was cooked on order, we had the medium portions which were very generous and the fish was full of flavour and not dripping in grease. The tables were well spaced out and the premises...
