I have lived near Marlow's for over 20 years and used to recommend it to my friends. I went off it years ago as everything seemed to be cooked too early and left waiting for the customers! Thought I would give it a try again as there is a notice about fish being cooked to order. The fish was fine... More

My family lives in the US, but we have a lot of relatives in Leeds, and Marlow's is on the list of places we make a point of going to at least 3 times -- any time we visit the relatives ... yes it's THAT good. It not an oily fish wrapped in newspaper kind of place, but rather a... More

Its not pretentious. Its just a very outstanding traditional chippy. The people are nice. There is plenty on site parking, its fairly priced and they take card payment too.

Visited with a friend for lunch, we were given a warm welcome and attended to quickly shown an extensive menu for a fish restaurant. The food was cooked on order, we had the medium portions which were very generous and the fish was full of flavour and not dripping in grease. The tables were well spaced out and the premises... We chose the special offer of 2 meals a drink and bread and butter. This cost the grand sum of £12.95 and was superb value for money. The service was friendly and fast and the quality of the food supplied was first class. Given that fish and chips to take away for 2 ranges from £8.00 to £10.00 this deal... More

Had grilled haddock, tasted OK, but a little tough (overcooked?). The desert tasted nice, but the rhubarb crumble was upside down with no crispy topping i.e. the bowl had a mass of soft cumble topping in the bottom of the dish topped with lots of rhubarb.....however, good large portion and accompanied by two large scoops of lovely vanilla icecream.

We went to the Leeds area for a weekend. Planned all week for a special friday night Fish & Chip supper. Having stayed north of Leeds it took us a while to find somewhere to eat - not sure if that was down to my navigation skills or lack of fish and chip shops! Anyway, a quick browse of a... More

really good fish n chips especially for a friday lunch.......... takeaway - prices can add up when add in the extras... drink, mushy peas, sauces, tea cake etc so could do with a set meal price like they have for the restaurant..... as mentioned below.... fried in veggie oil so perfect for those needing to adhere to vegetarian, halal, regimes
