Description: "In the very heart of Leeds, Malmaison Brasserie reigns supreme as a superlative place to meet and eat. The highly chic brasserie has sleek stylish decor, with soaring vaulted ceiling, an open through fireplace and cosy booths. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and the dining room is lit with that brasserie buzz. Malmaison Executive Chef Keith shearer has overall direction, which Head Chef Peter Conlin carries out beautifully. What's cooking? Inspiration is taken from great 'French brasserie-style dishes' and further enhanced with a unique contemporary twist. "

A group of us tried the Summer Early Bird offer. Two courses plus a half bottle of wine for £19.95. We started by sampling the cocktail list, the Classic Martini was excellent and very welcome on a hot evening. We were then shown to the Dining Room which was large and spacious with plenty of room between tables. We ordered... More

Tonight's dinner was a complete disappointment. From the badly trained staff with inadequate knowledge of the menu to the modest, tasteless food, nothing was even close to acceptable. I am sure that everyone in the kitchen was from an agency just for the night. No trained chef would ever let such food leave his kitchen. The whole restaurant is amateur... More

The ambience was lovely, the cocktails were amazing, the food was very enjoyable, not the best i have ever eaten... More

I booked in for Afternoon Tea on a Sunday afternoon for 4 of us using a discount deal. From the moment we arrived the service was dreadful! Ok, it was pretty busy when we arrived, but it took ages for any member of staff to even acknowledge us and show us to our table. Once seated, we were asked if... More

Visited Malmaison for Sunday Lunch offer, and just glad I wasn't paying full price. The best part of the 3 courses was the Starter, good choice from the chefs table including fresh salmon, selection of meats and terrines in addition to salads. I'd ordered the lamb dinner and my friends who are vegetarians requested extra veg to make up for... More

Went to MalMaison with my boyfriend and his parents for Sunday lunch. His mum had got vouchers for buy one get one free meals. They'd been before but it was my first time. Our main course orders were taken and we were directed to the Chef's table to get our appertifs. There was a lovely caramelised onion soup and fresh... More

Malmaison, when it opened, attracted a lot of interest, especially from my and my owrk colleagues. I do not go there now. There is nothing wrong with either the experience or the food, that you can hang your hat on, it just seems as though it all needs refreshing.

Definitely below par for Malmaison - served on cold plate which meant food almost cold on arrival. Grilled tomato cooked only on cut surface so remaining part was cold and raw. Fried egg pre-sprinkled with black pepper in quantity spoiling taste (seasoning should be the diner's choice; that's why there are condiments on the table!)

We used to go here when they had the local menu on and it was great. The food and menu now seems to have gone downhill. Which is a shame as as it used to be good. The food lacked a degree of freshness and the Le Mal hot chocolate my wife had to leave of which they didn't charge... More

The wife bought a voucher from Amazon or something which allowed us both a drink each and the steak and frites with a sauce each, which normally would cost around £52 but we got the voucher for £29, so it is very good value. We did order starters, the wife had the chicken liver parfait which was excellent however had... More
