Tasty

Lunchtime during 40s weekend; I had a very tasty steak and kidney pudding, the best I've had for a very long time, with excellent chips. My wife had the game pie, the first pie I've ever seen without any pastry whatsoever! The cover was a few sliced potatoes. It was declared tasy but with perhaps a... read more

Two of us dined here over the 1940s celebrations. The restaurant was fully booked , so we had a bar meal. Very pleased indeed that we did. Out of 8 Pub/Restaurant meals we had during our stay, this was the best. I am a meat eater and my companion a vegetarian. Both meals were sublime. Although we ordered off the... More

It was a Thursday night when we went there, on a recommendation from our B&B host, so the pub was very quiet. The food was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding wonderful. We ate from the bar menu but there was a good choice of food. We would not hesitate to recommend.

This place had been recommended to us by others and members of our party had also been there in the past and rated it. The waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful. The wait for our food was also good considering there were six of us. When the food arrived I was impressed. I had a soup, which I do accept... More

We always make a beeline to this little quaint pub/hotel for our meals, the staff and hosts always make you welcome. One bit of advice, dont dilly daly as were to eat because it gets very very busy this weekend. If you can get booked in it's even better as you dont have far to go for all the entertainment.... Had dinner there on a Sunday night at the suggestion of the local Bobby. He wasn't wrong, the service was good and the meal was excellent. Service was efficient and friendly.

We called in here to have a bit to eat, unfortunately the waitress came back to tell us, on 2 separate occasions, that they did not have what we had ordered on the menu. The eating place was rather unkept, the waitress/bar staff were nice. Would give this a miss next time we visit.

Had a late afternoon meal at this pub yesterday. Very cosy old fashioned pub atmosphere. Drinks a little on the pricy side. Main courses were excellent. Between the five of us we had wild mushroom and red pepper lasagne, burger with pulled pork, fish and chips, steak and ale pie and the fish pie. All very tasty and decent portion... More

We stopped off for lunch in Haworth, and visited this hotel. The homemade steak and kidney pudding my husband chose looked fantastic and was served with Maris piper chips, I had to pick a gluten free lunch and there were plenty to choose from, the chicken in green peppercorn sauce was delicious. There were also gluten free desserts I had... More

Arrived late on friday evening (around 8.30) found tables waiting to be cleared from previous customers (moved plates ourselves and piled onto adjoining table so we could sit down at preferred table). When we got our food it was ok, veg was very al dente, no one collected glasses until after 10. Not a good way too run an eating... More
