Steak night on a Friday? Great

Not many places do steak night at the weekend so I rang to check offer still on and booked a table for that evening. Fantastic value for money £25 for 2 steaks and a bottle of plonk, generous portions, friendly service. Best cheese board with beautiful locally sourced cheese, (waitress... read more

Excellent Food and Service, prices seemed expensive, the large Menu plus the specials board was proving difficult to make a choice. We were a ittle concerned that the quality might be compromised due to the massive choice on offer. We opted for King Prawns with a cream and whisky sauce and a Chcken liver pate for starter followed by The... More

Stayed at Leeming Wells and had a lovely cooked breakfast at The Dog and Gun this morning. Wonderful breakfast, hot and tasty, pleasant staff and a very comfortable and charming place. Would definitely like to go for an evening meal there when I am in the area again.

I liked everything about this pub, and disliked nothing. The food is delicious. A good selection of beers, and the staff super friendly. What more could you ask for.

We went as a group of four friends for an evening meal and had mixed feelings about our meals. One of us had lamb which she thought was excellent. Two of us had steak and ale pies and game pie, and when we tried each others meals, could not tell the difference. While the servings were ample and tasty, both... More

Was driving somewhat unguided around West Yorkshire on a Saturday afternoon and decided to stop at a random pub when hunger struck. The Dog & Gun was the lucky establishment and it served us well. We received a warm greeting from the barman as we walked through the door before he offered to accommodate us for the lunch we were... More

My husband, son and I had been planning a meal at this pub for such a long time only to be greeted by the most obnoxious landlord I have ever witnessed. There was no friendly greeting other than “have you booked” and he served our drinks as if he was doing us a favour. We couldn't help but notice the... More

We visited the Dog and Gun whilst on a short walking holiday in the area. Having been before we took the precaution of booking. We arrived at 8pm and the place was busy with people both eating and just drinking. It was a welcoming atmosphere. The Timothy Taylor Landlord was well kept, my wife enjoyed a glass or two of...
