We had lunch here with two friends who were off to a Saturday matinee at the theatre. The restaurant is a couple of minutes walk from Needlemakers and about 5 to 10 minute stroll to the shopping area. It's located in the basement in a large pale blue building called Victoria House. Today's visit was at lunchtime on a warm Thursday in May. The weather was not quite Andalusian but perhaps more appropriate to a meal outdoors or al fresco rather than in a cellar however brightly decorated with posters of bullfights and Spanish beaches. So my first point is: this is essentially a venue for the evenings when I imagine it... More

Great staff, incredibly good value and food great too. There's something very authentically Spanish about the restaurant - very relaxed and enjoyable evening. If I'm ever back in Chichester, I know I'll go back.

A great experience under the curved ceiling of an old brewery cellar with flamenco guitars and delicious tapas. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was exuberant. Very good value too.

My girlfriend and I visited here in November 2014. The atmosphere was lively and bubbly but still allowed for conversation, there was a Spanish guitar player in the corner loud enough to be pleasant but not dominating attention. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was fantastic. Nice sized portions that allowed for lots of dishes to be... More

What a find! Great food served by wonderful staff - felt like we were in Spain ! We chose to visit El Castizo due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed- we hadn't booked but the owner managed to squeeze us in which we were very grateful for. It was very busy with a constant stream... More

Although only a 5-10 walk from the town centre, I never knew it was there until I read about it on Trip Advisor. It is set back off the road next to a little park and is in the basement - entry by the left side of the building ( I believe it was once an old brewery). We were... More

We saw an advert for El Castizo and both like Tapas, and as it wasn’t far from our Bed and Breakfast thought we would give it a go. I am so glad we did. The dishes were generous and very tasty and I particularly liked the idea that the dishes came out from the kitchen as and when they were... More

I have visited El Castizo numerous times over the past couple of years, and it never disappoints. The service is friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is cosy and the food is fantastic. Always fresh and tasty, very much has it's own unique flavours and presentations. A must-try! Having turned up on a Tuesday evening it seemed as though we took... More
