A little off the beaten track with the entry in a car park. The service is very good, polite and helpful. Our cod goujons and and prawn in a filo pastry starters were nice but not special. Our duck and chicken main meals, though not memorable, were nevertheless wholesome and tasty. Value for money was excellent. We ate before 7p.m.... More

Me and my boyfriend are big fans of this restaurant. Friendly staff and we can't fault the food! Fairly expensive however with a taste card it's not too bad, recommend booking early as they get very busy! My only room for improvement would be for them to introduce some air conditioning as it can get quite uncomfortably hot in there... More

We live locally so are fortunate enough to eat here regularly & we have never been disappointed at either lunch or dinner time. A great menu which changes regularly, ample portions of beautifully cooked food served by friendly staff. Beats all the 'chain' restaurants by a long way!

Woodies was a welcome change of pace after eating in gastropubs for a few days. Of course you can still get fish and chips, cumberland sausages and the like, but there are some excellent salads and risottos on the menu. Our meals were served quickly; the restaurant prides itself on creating delicious dishes that won’t stretch the locals’ lunch break.... More

My wife and I experienced a wonderful evening at Woodies last Thursday. We found the name on The Gourmet Society listing and then the bar attendant at our hotel recommended them. We reserved a table and were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who saw us to our table (which was spotless). We were given olives when the menus were... More

We ate at Woodies at 6.00pm before going to the theatre and had a good meal. We told our server that we were going to the theatre and everything was produced smoothly and with no long delays, even though they were fairly busy. The menu is upmarket pub/ bistro food but we were impressed that everything was freshly cooked and... More

If you are going to the Chichester Festival Theatre and want to have a meal before-hand there are a number of choices. The theatre has its own restaurant and recently they have become very popular because of a new catering company so you may have trouble if you leave it as late as I did. The best one - Comme... More

Tasty food! Generously sized portions. Liked the building and very convenient for parking. Would like to be able to book online though.

Post theatre outing, excellent meal I think it was the Early Bird which meant 2 courses ordered and a bottle of excellent house wine thrown in. So for 3 of us total bill £65 and the food was simply excellent. If you add in that the staff were friendly and very efficient I don't know else you could ask for... More
