This cafe has developed over many years, providing good quality food and drink at a fair price with friendly, efficient staff. On the day we visited, the Cathedral Flower Festival was in full flow and the extra side garden which we had not seen before was being utilised. Although very busy, there were no extended waiting times and on a... More

The Cloisters always have very yummy food, always fresh and the staff are very helpful, and it is a good place to have lunch, which I do with my granddaughter, who also likes it very much, especially when the peregrine webcam is in the garden of the Cloister cafe, which it is right now, with 2 baby peregrines that have... We hired the room and garden next door to Cloisters Café. Both food and service were excellent. I would recommend to anyone.

We were very tired and wanted tea and cakes. A lot of tables had reserved labels on but, since the women staff were too busy in personal conversation to help us, we found a table without a reserved sticker and had to move cups, plates and saucers out of the way to use the table. A young man was helpful... More

This a nice place for quick snack after a visit of the cathedral. It is located next to the gift shop. They also have free WiFi but you have to ask a staff member for the password. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. It can get busy in here as I noticed a lot of the cathedral cafes are frequented... More

Had a nice cup of tea in the cafe but it was really busy and we had trouble finding a seat. It was also a bit expensive but would still recommend a visit but maybe not on a sunny saturday afternoon.

Had lunch with a friend recently whilst shopping. Good choice of freshly prepared hot dishes and salads. As it was a Friday, we both had the fish which was well cooked and presented. Clean and pleasant dining room. Friendly and efficient staff. Would definately recommend The Cloisters Cafe.

... at a good price. There were gluten free options available for mains, but no bread to go with the gluten free soup and nothing sweet at all (except perhaps an ice cream!) Pity. Lovely sheltered gardens to look at while you eat on a cool day or sit in on a warm day.

Here you get the usual range of paninis, soup (just one option today), salad (a bit dull), jacket potatoes and three or so specials, eg a meaty pie, fish pie, vegetable fricasse served in a pastry case, etc. serving staff are mostly young but all friendly. The best bit is the location, overlooking gardens.
