I come here a lot and am never disappointed. With real log fire, busy local trade and dogs welcome, the G&D is a proper old English pub in the centre of Chi. In addition to a wide selection of real ales, there is a craft lager tap with a monthly guest lager - very rare to see! There is a... More

My mum and I both ordered the burger. Hers was great, mine was very undercooked. I sent the whole plate back. They came back with just the burger meat on a plate with a piece of lettuce, sent it back again and got the same but with a bun. Finally got it back with the sides and everything and it was... More

Used to use this pub regularly as the staff were always friendly and welcoming but this year they have had a complete change of staff and one in particular really needs to go on a course in customer relations. She is rude and quite frankly aggressive, we had a situation with her this weekend and when we went back in... More

I have chosen to respond to your review as I do not think it is a fair reflection of the evening in question. The evening you fail to explain in your review. Your husbands drunken and threatening behavior to my (female) staff in which other members of the public chose to step in to remove him from the premises. In... More

We booked two nights having read that the bedrooms were in a converted stable block, what is not mentioned anywhere is that they all overlook the large outside deck where not only is smoking allowed throughout, but the deck remains open and extremely busy and noisy until at least 11pm, so no chance of sleep until after the staff has... We had booked for a meal here two weeks beforehand because we knew it was going to be busy on Goodwood Revival weekend. We arrived in good time to be told that although our name was at the top of the reservation list it had not been taken down correctly and the only table available was in the busy bar... More

Dined here this evening with family and left feeling angry and resentful. We were a group of 11 guests and we were all disappointed with the food, and disgusted by the rude and sarcastic 'waiter' for whom every request seemed too much trouble. The problems began when 5 or 6 of our group received our main courses once the starters... More

Very busy lunchtime before the theatre. Understandably had too wait for a short while for the food as the restaurant was packed! Once the food arrived we were very happy.! Reasonable prices and well presented

A poor experience. Service very slow (maybe just because there was only one waiter), unsmiling service staff. Food very average and the Goats Cheese Muffin positively poor. Atmosphere cold. Condition of decoration in loos tired and somehow this seems important. Got lots going for it location wise but not delivering enough for us to return.

We ate there on a Friday lunchtime in April. Two of us had a Smoked Haddock Fishcake with Lime and Wasabi Mayonnaise served with Salad (£9.50). We both received one large fishcake with a nice crispy breadcrumb coating and plenty of haddock as well as potato inside. The Lime and Wasabi Mayonnaise was a bit of non-event though tasting more... You can go for breakfast at your local greay spoon and have something that satisfies. The quality may not be too good but you've had your sausage, bacon and beans so what's the problem? Well the problem for you is you're missing out on the type of breakfast you'll get at the George & Dragon. It's a lot better than... More
