Convenient and impressive

Very near to the centre of Chichester and most reasonably priced considering, this was our first visit. The interior is clean if not a little worn and in need of dome refreshment. However the menu was varied, the staff helpful, polite and efficient. A nice garden area to sit and a good table... read more

My wife and I had a pre theatre meal here - my wife ordered a salmon starter whilst I ordered baked Brie we both had Thai chicken curry. The salmon was tasteless and the dressing was too poor to be shop brought, the Brie was covered in bread lumps yes it was supposed to be crumbs but was not. The... More

Located at the top of North Street, the pub is in a good position to attract passing trade, particularly from people coming and going to the theatre. It is quite a light, modern interior with a small restaurant area at the back. Service was friendly, menu is the standard British pub menu - steak, pies, fish and chips, burgers, etc.... More

I booked a table for four at 1730 for a pre theatre meal. We ordered drinks which arrived promptly and then we ordered our food - just one main course each. An hour later no food. This is after we had watched the people at the next table have their starter, main and dessert. We kept trying to engage our... More

We had a fabulous meal here (4 adults) Friday 5pm before going to the Chichester Festival Theatre. From the outside it looks a normal pub but the food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere

We stayed in Chichester to take in a show and looked for a venue where we could get a meal before the show. The George and Dragon, the (G&D) is in prime position for theatre goers unfortunately it didn't take advantage of it. We arrived at 6.15pm and placed an order for Fish and Chips and a Caesar Salad. 1.... More

Lovely food served in the conservatory. For starters we had asparagus with duck egg, asparagus in a cheese sauce and prawns. Mains were burger, rump of lamb and salmon. Each dish was beautifully presented, tasty and the portions were very generous. Pleasant staff in dining area and bar. The breakfast the following morning was also excellent with a huge choice.... Been visiting Chichester for the Festival of Speed for the past nine years now and we always make sure that we visit the George and Dragon at least once during our weeks stay. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, some nice ales on tap, and the food is always really nice.

We arrived at 8.30 on a Friday and were greeted by the lovely staff and we sat down in the dining area. However, after waiting five minutes, I had to get up and ask for the menus. The food itself was fine - apparently the burger was lovely, but my risotto was bland to the point of tedium. Really disappointing.... More
