It was the only bar we could get into without a crush (early evening) and that should have told us something! Awful barman - very put out that he had to do some 'work' and serve us, awful plastic tumblers (been through the washer about 800 times all cloudy and scratched) and the worst mojito ever poured.

The staff were alright, although a little pre-occupied so took a while to get our bill at the end of the meal. The food was not the nicest, I would recommend people avoid the vegetarian sausages and mash - the mash tasted plasticy and not fresh, appeared to be straight from a packet, and half the sausages were under cooked... Let down, awful service, not enough seating. Bringing a meal out 5 minutes after everyone has finished theirs in unacceptable. Two options for dessert rather than the 9 on the menu. Staff loitering around the bar having a laugh whilst customers wait 10 or more minutes for a simple soft drink. Cold soggy chips, with dry burnt chicken on a... More

27th August 2014 11.45 This place has certainly gone downhill since we last used it and it appeared that there was no overall experienced management. Obviously appeared to be under-staffed and inexperienced kitchen staff - how can you serve cold chips? Concerned over the state of the mens cubicle toilets where the door could not be closed properly and if... More

After being disappointed with the service at another bar/restaurant in the area, We decided to try here. The food was delicious with a great selection, but most of all the service of the staff was brilliant. They were attentive and friendly but not intruding. Our server George was so polite and friendly it made a massive difference. We will definitely... More

We came here for our anniversary as I had a busy day at Uni. But our meal was excellent, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. Also had the nicest dessert I've ever had here.

The Slug and Lettuce was completely empty when we went in Sunday evening and stayed that way for the hour we were in there! However the food was good and good value, and the service excellent not that our waiter was under pressure.

Stood around for 5 to 10 minutes whilst staff ignored us. One member was asked to serve but replied to his collegue that he was too busy. Strange really as the pub was pretty empty. I think that the staff were just been bone idle really and enjoying the sun. Wouldn't eat there but would love to Work there sitting... More
