Good food, staff and atmosphere on Bank Holiday Sunday

Visited Chichester late one night and stopped off here for a drink alone. Ordered bar food (homemade sausage roll) and wasn't impressed because it was soggy and tasted foul. Went on quiz night and was invited by a group to sit and join in which was nice. More of a student pub (chichester college nearby). Nice historic area nearby and... More

Wish this was my local, great atmosphere, conversation, grand friendly staff, wonderful selection of beers. Visited on quiz night food menu was a bit restricted but the Ham and eggs with chips was as it should be. The pies looked very choice and were being rapidly devoured. Pub heaven.

Just happened to be passing as we were looking for a lunch spot and we were not impressed by the High St offerings. A delightful. clean characterful pub with an excellent lunch and good beer

Went here for lunch as was let down by The Old Cross who lost our reservation. Staff were very accommodating & courteous. Food .& service was excellent, good value for money.

The quest for sunday lunch on a wet July afternoon led us to this well known Chichester pub. Good pub atmosphere within, waitresses were polite and attentive. Decided on the roast lamb which was well cooked with plenty of trimmings, no thrills, but £10... good value! Unfortunately dessert didn't deliver. When is a gooseberry fool not a fool? When it's... Thought this was a really nice and relaxed pub. Seemed to be quite a few locals drinking in there (in a good way) and had a good atmosphere. Sunday Roast was very good too (and great value for money).

Situated just off the park, as the name suggests, this is a typical locals pub, but with the added bonus of very good food. The beer was exceptionally well kept (London Pride), and the food much better than average. The halloumi burger and goats cheese salad were both delicious, three generous rounds of cheese on toasted French bread with an... More

We would recommend a visit (need to book in advance) on the Quiz night , Tuesday's. Teams upto to 6 can enter and it really is a fun occasion. There is good beer and the food, mainly pies are brilliant, and reasonably priced at about £7 a dish. Competition is keen for the prizes but it is light-hearted and a... More

It's a proper but slightly modern take pub. The interiors are great, the staff are young and 'proper' pub staff ie friendly. The food is modern and very tasty. It's a real pleasure to visit and the food makes you happy.
